Why did they go 6-6 and lose to ULM in 2007?

Same guy leading them.

When you win a division title the next year and a NC the year after that it's ok.

I'm sure no one in Tuscaloosa was shrugging the ULM loss off when it happened,. No one certainly said that ULM was more talented.

He had to redeem himself and he more than did that.

If I may, even though this wasn’t addressed to me...

Once upon a time, not all that long ago, Alabama football had fallen on hard times. They fired their coach and were dealing with sanctions because of things that coach did.

No one expected 2007 Alabama to do much of anything. Honestly I don’t believe much was expected of them in 2008 either, but I could be wrong on that.

Bama went from 6-6 to 12-2 and then to 14-0 and national champions by year 3

Hey, if we’re lucky O will have us as SEC West runners up and put up a FG against Bama. That would be improvement along the same lines.

That hasn't absolutely nothing to do with the point.

A point you tried to make.

Same coach both years. Why did they dramatically improve?

If he goes from 3rd in the West to 2nd, does that mean he will get another extension and raise?

Absolutely. You can’t expect him to beat Bama as long as Saban is there, that’d be crazy talk. That program is literally unbeatable.

Projection all day everyday. They couldn’t make a straight forward argument if you gave them one with the facts on their side.

The man had a full offseason to implement his coaches, his verbiage, his training, you name it.

When he's had that opportunity at his last two stops, he's won hardware the next season. You think he's just picking the best teams in the SEC to go to?

If it was about the Jimmies and Joes, he wouldn't be getting hired there in the first place because they'd be performing. He's just the luckiest coach in the world I guess, always stumbling into good situations ready to win championships.

As usual Roger is contradicting his own narrative. The same reasoning he’s using to justify Sabans success are the excuses he gives to protect 0. Par for the course.

You seem to be confusing anger and sarcasm.

Anger usually manifests itself in many ways, humor is not one of them.

Have you seen Alabamas recruiting?
BTW: his 2008 class was ranked number one with guys named Julio Jones, Dareus, Barron, Ingram

Guys who immediately contributed and were important parts of the 2009 NC

So yeah, the Jimmies and Joes are the reason he's been on this run

The number one class several years in a row usually trumps "luck"

You seem to have a knack for talking about teams with wins that get vacated.

You seem to be unable to understand that vacated is revisionist, they still had enough talent and won 10 games.

It's almost like you want to pretend those games were never really played.

So one freshman recruiting class was good enough to run the table in the SEC?

So two very good recruiting classes (neither was #1 composite on 247) was enough to be the best team in the country when others teams like USC and UF had been crushing recruiting for years before Saban got the job?

You kinda just tanked your "experience" argument. Freshman and sophomores are better than experienced juniors and seniors from others programs that had been recruiting well for many more years?

Anyone rejecting experience as a factor for improvement s an absolute moron.

No, it was enough when added to other factors.

The key to Sabans success is recruiting. It's no secret.
