4min =/= 60min
its a fatigue issue.....

How about they focus on fixing the retarded "Targeting" rule first.

Actually, they are.

terrible idea, it pretty much kills late game comebacks

Auburn faked plenty of people out this year by rush by rushing up to the line and then not snapping the ball immediately. Giving them time to see the defense and not allowing the subs to actually come in.
this is basically leveraging the rules in your favor, which is outside the spirit of competition, imo. However, more rules isn't really the answer.

i don't see how that is possibly outside the spirit of competition. Manning has made a living out of it

Ncaa proposed rule change for no huddle. Says must allow 10 seconds to run off play clock before snap
The NCAA is a joke. Why in the hell would they propose such a stupid arse rule? Are they intentionally trying to lose credibility?

good. I have a lot more respect for teams that are man enough to lineup and beat you fair and square instead of having to play bitch ball and beat you when you're not ready. It's the football equivalent of a sucker punch.
I"m not saying hurry up has no place in football, but for it to become a team's entire lifeblood and scheme? That's bush league and always has been.

no, it is still a shitty rule even with the change

I don't have a problem with this. The primary point of the rule is defensive substitutions - not the time and total plays. Because of the increase number of plays (generally), the defense should be able to substitute if they want to regardless of what the offense does. Nowadays, the offense can hold the defense "hostage" by running up to the line even if they do not intend to run the play (and we know from the numbers in this thread that they don't run those plays within 10 seconds). There was never a need for this rule in the past so it was a non-issue. The rules need to change with the times.
And...there are way too many rules that favor the offense these days. The defense should at least be able to substitute with fresh players.

Won't pass in the rules committee
Saban is pushing for it hard though

Exactly. Defenses have to get their conditioning up and coaches have to coach and manage the game b
Such BS. Defenses run a lot more than offenses. It's the lines where fatigue is an issue. Eventually, running hurry up neutralizes the pass rush. The Dline is expending a lot more energy every play than the Oline. Hence, the unfair advantage. I wish the rule would take it further and say 25 seconds.

If it passes, it will beat the frick out of what was in place for 2013.

and it still would have resulted in the uga player getting ejected for the wrong call.
It certainly doesn't fix the rule

What UGA player? Help me out here.
What would fix the rule?

what happens on an incomplete pass? the clock doesn't start until the ball is snapped anyways. a team can run pretty much the same amount of plays, they just can't screw up the defensive substitutions for 11 seconds.
Kinda a dumb point! The play clock starts when the ball is spotted, whether or not clock game clock is running.

Not really, the play clock starts when the ball becomes dead on the previous down generally speaking.

the player was ejected for grazing the helmet of the QB.
Well the rule shouldn't exist in the 1st place. If the rule has to exist, it should have to be malicious and egregious. Right now, a matter of inches results in ejection
