So LSU would need Auburn to lose twice, Oregon to lose 1, Nebraska to stumble and possibly Ok St. to fall for us to get in? I think TCU is going to be the only undefeated team remaining...but if Boise is still undefeated They will be left at 3 in most polls i believe

Well the "easy way" is for AU to lose to UGA and Bama and us win the SECCG. Then I think it is a toss up between LSU and TCU.
If AU doesn't los to UGA, then 3 of the following 4 HAVE to happen:
1. AU loses to Bama and SECCG
2. Oregon loses
3. TCU loses
4. Nebraska or Boise lose
and personally I think that NU and Boise both need to lose

If NC beats Virginia Tech, do we jump to number 4 next week?

I doubt that alone does it, but if Wisconsin and/or Stanford lose that would be big.

Anyone else rather LSU play a Big 10 team in a non bcs bowl than say Virginia Tech or Pittsburgh in a BCS Bowl?

LSU vs OSU in New Orleans? Wait a minute, been there, done that!

If monkeys fly out of lsumatt's butt will it mean we get to the NC?
If 11-1 LSU is at #3 or #4 when/if an unbeaten 12-0 Auburn team falls in the SECCG to 12-1, said Auburn team will drop more than two places. Is there some reason LSU should do the same and also drop? Will our SOS take that big a hit at that time?

You guys are neglecting one major ace in the hole for us! Waiting for TCU the last week are the New Mexico Lobos and the defense of former LSU co-defensive coordinator, Doug Mallory!
Put that in your pipe and smoke it, BCS!

good QB. scores a ton.
we have DBs injured.
How many healthy ones will we have at game time three weeks from now.
It will be a real challenge. Ark is the highest rated opponent among the remaining opponents of Oregon, TCU, Boise, Stanford
so, if LSU wins, it could propel them into the coveted #4 spot.

I am wondering how many people on this board would fess up to predicting that LSU would be in this situation? Personally I am not thinking we play for NC this year. I will ban myself for one nth if they do.

4. Nebraska or Boise lose
Nebraska is not great. Boise is.
Why are you only worried about Nebraska?
Stanford is actually ranked ahead of Nebraska, and their only loss was Oregon. They are better than Nebraska. If you watch both, as I have, you may agree that Stanford is the better.
1. TCU does not have an opponent left that could beat App State or Jacksonville State (both undefeated AA's). TCU will not lose another game.
2. Boise has one good opponent and the other is ranked #100.
1 possible challenge, one cakewalk.
3. Oregon has three good opponents left, all in the 30's.
Think 2 Georgias and a 3rd Georgia on a good day.
4. Aubies have Georgia and Bama.
Plus the SEC championship.

Nebraska/Ok State can both win the Big12 with 1-loss. Voters may feel compelled to vote them above LSU who didn't win their conference. Stanford wouldn't really have that argument over LSU since they lost to Pac 10 champ Oregon.

San Diego State is 7-2 and ranked in the top 40 of most computer polls. Not saying they beat TCU but they are better than App State.

LSU beats Ole Miss, but loses to Arkansas
Auburn loses to Georgia and Alabama
it's a 3-way tie right? Who would go??

actually, it could be a 4 way tie with Auburn, LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas...all at 6-2 in SEC play

LSUmatt - what happens if for some reason, the NCAA rules Cam ineligible and Auburn has to vacate the wins before the end of the season. Of course, LSU does not get the victory but if Auburn is all of the sudden 0-10 instead of 10-0, does that effect LSU's computer score?
