National perception of Miles isn't as bad we thought .

yeah...it wasn't even close. but the Miles haters wanted to think that they were the majority when in actuality they are a vocal minority. They found that out this past week and it hurt their feelings.

This relates in a way to this thread.

I've heard 4 national talking heads in the last day say the following:

" Les and LSU were forced to play Alabama, a team they already beat, again in 2011 and it wasn't fair. They already had beaten Bama once".

I mean really you motherfrickers? You are the ones who rigged it to become that. And now it was unfair? Where the frick were you in 2011? These mofos say whatever just so they catch the breeze to glide and not have to really work on a opinion.

Fwiw, I'm cool with Les staying but frick these douchbag media heads

I would love to hear the "national perspective" of this

Year 1
3rd and short. Break the huddle with seven seconds left on the play clock. Rush to get play off without losing 5 valuable yards. Rush play only to lose 4 yards. FG missed.

Year 5
3rd and short. Break the huddle with seven seconds left on the play clock. Rush to get play off without losing 5 valuable yards. Rush play only to lose 4 yards. FG missed.

Saturday night
3rd and short. Break the huddle with seven seconds left on the play clock. Rush to get play off without losing 5 valuable yards. Rush play only to lose 4 yards. FG missed.

You must be one of those with zero perspective of college football and coaches outside of LSU.

You can analyze every coach and find negatives but since you follow LSU and hate Les, its magnified.

That many LSU "Fans" predicted we would lose to.

Now they are a "crappy" team because LSU won.

Both teams are crappy, it was a matter of who sucked less. A&M's play was abysmal.

before this whole thing blew up, the national perception on Miles was that he was a below average coach who had clock management issues and couldn't develop a QB. so what's changed since then?

Our athletic department and school administration showed that its handling of the coaching search/firing was worse than Miles' weaknesses. That's what happened.

I didn't want Miles fired when the talk and rumors and gossip started, but as the situation drug on - harming our brand, recruiting for next year, assistant coach stability, etc., I and many other supporters came to see that a situation was created where LSU would likely be better off going forward if they just got Jimbo or someone comparable...that obviously didn't happen.

Les Miles was left to twist in the wind when Alleva could have just said that LSU had no intention of making any changes and kept the whole situation from blowing up like it did. Now he is a sympathetic figure with a record that speaks for itself in the eyes of the country at large (the time and room for nuanced argument regarding trends etc. has passed).

Georgia did it right, we did it wrong. Compare the results and perception for yourself.

Occasional blunders happen with every coach since they are human.

What you are responding to is a characterization of a systemic issue that has plagued Miles throughout his tenure. Eleven years later, it was as apparent as ever this past Saturday.

That was obviously the QB's fault. As a matter of fact, any time LSU plays like crap its anyone else's fault except Miles. He's just so awesome everyone else on the team looks horrible in comparison.

You must not have followed LSU when a number of average coaches before 2000 were winning at bout a 64% level.

Don't know much about LSU's history when it comes to financial commitments and infrastructure development, do you?

Alabama is definitely not the top coaching gig in the country. They have the top coach in the country, no doubt. But if you think any coach wants to try to fill Nick Saban's size sevens, your're wrong.
