Hey ya'll, wanted to share a few helpful links to help you get around Nashville in two weeks. I've been living here for 4 years, it's going to be really awesome seeing LSU takeover Broadway.

Nashville Guru: a good guide for happy hours, restaurants, neighborhood breakdowns

Reddit's guide to Nashville

Another food and drink guide

Below is the list of legitimate Hot Chicken restaurants in Nashville. While there is furious debate as to which Hot Chicken joint is the best, pretty much everyone agrees that any of the following prepare it the right way. The below list is presented in alphabetical order.

400 Degrees
Boltons
Hattie B's
Helen's
Slow Burn
Pepperfire
Prince's - The Original Hot Chicken joint. It all started here.

Happy to answer any of your Nashville questions, see yall soon.

Only one they should go to.

Hattie B's is a tourist trap. It's ok, but you'll wait in line with other tourists.

There are tons of new restaurants and bars downtown. Almost every bar has a rooftop bar now and it is awesome. Wish it was going to be a little cooler though.

I'm with you, they can call ahead/order online and skip the line at Hattie B's.

that's why you go to Bishops in Cool Springs. Same family, same chicken, no line unless you're going Sunday after church. They also serve more than Hattie B's does as it's a meat/3 place that also serves the Hattie B's chicken.

For you Windsor Court type snobs (like me :-)) The Hermitage Hotel and they have a very nice restaurant but even a greater small cocktail area that is quiet. Good "brown liquor" selection.

Hey Cad. So is Bishop's the best? I'll be in town and definitely want to get some on Sunday before I fly back to Louisiana.

personally i think the hot chicken craze is overrated esp. with la folks because we're spoiled with the great fried chicken we can already get.

bishops is great because its wont be busy and you can escape the craziness of midtown/downtown for a minute.

i think they open at 11am on sunday and you'll want to hit it then because the church crowd loves them some meat & 3s so you'll get a bit of a line after church is out which is the only time they're ever busy.

what time is your flight on sunday? there's lot of good places to grab a bite besides bishops here. i would actually suggest Taj (indian buffet is life-changing) and its much closer to the airport or House of Kebab (about a mile from Taj) LINK

Look at that damn Koobideh

Bishop's is good, but not the best. It's like Hattie B's. If you're dead set on Hattie B's, they do have three locations that are actually in Nashville-Davidson County (Midtown, Woodland/Melrose area, and West Nashville). They'll likely have waits at all three, but the Midtown will likely be the longest/most crowded.

Also, it's way out in Cool Springs - some 30 minutes from the downtown area. There is nothing to see out there except for strip malls and office plexes. I certainly wouldn't pay to Uber all the way out there and back.

I've just never had it and as you can tell from my avatar I love some spicy chicken.

AH, just checked my flight...I leave at 10 Sunday morning. Guess I'll have to get my fix Saturday some where else.
