I know this is mentioned in the stickied thread, but I thought having a separate thread to help folks navigate the road closures would be a good idea. Any recommendations or other info is welcome.

Avoid the I-65/I-440 intersection entirely if possible as well as Franklin Rd where it runs by that intersection. Traffic could be backed up on a number of other roads in the area that lead on/off of 65 and 440 like Harding Pl, Wedgewood, Hillsboro, Old Hickory and Nolensville Pike.

This should only affect those who are coming in from south of Nashville or want to go south to Franklin. If you're in Nashville and want to go to the Pilgrimage Festival, I would recommend taking I-40 West to I-840. If you're driving in from the south, that same route (in reverse, of course) will bring you into Nashville from the west and avoid most of the road issues.

Hillboro Rd close to the Green Hills Mall and I-440 is the traffic equivalent of nails on a chalkboard on a good day. I imagine it will be terrible Saturday.

I live in Brentwood. So this decision by the DOT on game day SUCKS. I’m leaving at 7AM just to get to the game. Is Franklin Road underpass at I440 also closed down? Hope not.

Dude, what?

Why are you leaving 4 hours early to get to the game? You could easily take Franklin Pike or something

And they are doing it on a weekend because they don't want to do it during weekday commuter traffic. And this is not some huge weekend in Nashville relative to other things. Vanderbilt games are a blip on the radar as far as Nashville is concerned.

Yes, Franklin Rd is closed where it goes under that interchange. It's open up to Woodmont Blvd.

Depends on where in Brentwood but early morning Saturday there will not be a lot of traffic. I drove next to the stadium for Vanderbilt/UGA right before kickoff and could hardly tell there was a game about to go on

Just give yourself an hour.

Take Granny White to Harding Pl, the to Hillsboro and go through Green Hills right up to Vandy's campus.

Or take Granny White all the way 12th South.

It won't be difficult early Saturday morning.

I'll be coming from Bwood as well, and I'm thinking we're going to come up Granny White Pike and go around Lipscomb U to 12th Ave South. Not sure that's the best route, but I'd like to avoid as much traffic as possible, 'cause I just can't be bothered.

We are leaving around 6am from Brentwood so I guess we'll be OK based on what you are saying. Thanks for the route directions.

That works just fine. Won't take long at all.

Again, I think LSU people are projecting Baton Rouge gameday traffic onto Vanderbilt/Nashville. It is nothing like that.

And Nashville has something going on almost every weekend as big as this. Locals won't even notice LSU is town.

If you leave Brentwood at 6 AM you'll get to the stadium no later than 6:45 AM

Whatever floats your boat though

I'm in Franklin and planning to leave around 945 for the game.

Like I said in the sticky if you're in Brentwood or cool springs just fire up Waze and head towards highway 70 or i40 and you'll be just fine.

Eta Waze ETAs are almost always on point down to the minute.

This.

It won't be bad at all.

I'm cracking up in my office right now thinking about panicking LSU fans leaving at 6 AM from Brentwood worried they won't get to the game on time

There will be absolutely no one on the roads that early Saturday and you'll get there quite easily.

I'm assuming you'd want to come up to town on Hillsboro. That runs all the way up to campus and puts you a good deal west of the disaster that is 440/65.

If you do this, you'll be on campus in 20-30 minutes.

Surely you don't think people actually think that right. No one thinks it's going to take 5 hours to go 10 miles.

Because i was told that Franklin road at the overpass is also shut down, and want enough tailgate party time before a 11AM kickoff. Most people south of the city are leaving very early.

Yeah it's strange he didn't even consider people wanting to tailgate and assumed they were going straight to the stadium. Probably been living in Tennessee too long.
