7.alabama

So... by this list (ANCIENT HISTORY)
being posted, you are suggesting that Florida doesnt belong in the top ten?

So if you use something from three years ago, something from this past year makes even more sense. So Ole Miss is a better program than LSU. So is Penn State (but we beat PSU, so wouldn't that mean we're therefore a better program than LSU)?

Not in any specific order

Bama
Texas
Oklahoma

I really don't see anybody else who is better.

Florida is nothing without Tebow and Meyer
Ohio st and usc are highly overrated every year
Penn St caught us in a problem year.
Virginia tech will vanish when TT is gone and Ryan Williams leaves early the year after
If and when Boise st plays a top tier SEC Defense they will finally know that they can't play with the big boys.

Our in state talent is getting better every year, finally beating great teams and can play championship caliber football.

Were gonna have a couple 08-09 seasons, it's inevitable. But we at least have the ability to get into contention for the title every year now.

Right now we are beating ourselves and if you honestly think that there are truly a bunch of teams better than us then you don't know this team.

we will be back in this thing next year, and you can quote me on it.

No, that doesn't work. Ohio State lost to Purdue, who lost to Northern Illinois, thus making Northern Illinois better than OSU and LSU. I'm joking of course.

If we are talking about current state of programs, which I would say factors in recent history, recruiting efforts, etc. OSU and LSU are definetly both Top 10 programs. I would say Florida, Bama, LSU, OSU, USC, Texas, Virginia Tech, Boise State, Oklahoma, and possibly Oregon.

LSU is definitely a top 10 program in the nation...

That said,

Florida, OU, Texas, USC, and Bama are all programs ahead of the Tigers right now.

The order in the list is incorrect.

4) Nebraska
5) Ohio State
6) Penn State
7) Alabama
8) Oklahoma
9) Tennessee

Today Ohio State is a better program than LSU. Coming off an 11-2 season with nearly every key player returning and a leading Heisman candidate for next year and the first team in college football history to beat five 10 win teams in one season. LSU doesn't have the resume to compete with that after the past two years. It may change and change soon but the question was today and today it's not an argument.

Two national championships this decade as opposed to one of yours. We beat you pretty resoundly in the second one. We also play in a better conference. I'll go back to my original reasoning - how are you against the SEC lately?

It really depends on what you factor in. If you base it coming off of last season, OSU is the better program. However, LSU is only 3 years removed from winning a NC, while OSU is 8 years removed. Based on recent history, I think UF is the best program in the nation. I think the rest of the pack is jumbled up.

There is no way Ohio State is better than LSU as a program. We weren't very good this year but any other year, we beat OSU. By virtue of playing in the big 10, they manage to get to the big stage but we've all seen what they've done there until this year.

5-3 in BCS Bowl games overall. It's not winning them all but it certainly isn't not getting it done either.

The question was today right? and not 3 years ago. If we finished outside of the top 15 the last 2 years how can we be considered a top 10 program today? Is there a point in time when a top 10 program is expected to finish in the top 10? I guess that is never expected to happen in order to earn that title. Is that sort of like conceeding the SEC West Title yearly to Saban as long as we win 8 games a year?

They played the statistical number 1 defense with two All-Americans on it in the Fiesta Bowl. They definitely have seen an SEC caliber defense, and that defense held them to 10 offensive points in a game that they won.

Your SEC homerism is blinding your judgment.

what difference does Ohio States record against the SEC make? That tells you nothing about what kind of program they have.

Since they won the NC in 2002, tOSU has had only 1 down year, 2004. They have been in a BCS Bowl every year since 2005. They are easily a top 10 program that appears to be in better shape at the moment.

LSU is ranked 23rd by one poll for 2010. So the 22 ranked ahead of us are better according to the experts.

I'm basing the program in the modern era, the last ten years and next five. Right now I am leaning on Texas or Bama or our LSU Tigers
