Coach O left a mess but not a fire. He also left about 10 Top 100 draft picks and likely 20+ overall draft picks.

CBK has cleaned up and installed accountability measures for nutrition, training and academics. He also brought in experienced Louisiana kids to fill in holes and some future stars to boot. From all reports, CBK and his players had a very good offseason.

This team is talented and experienced. WR, DB and DL are elite. OL, LB and P are very good. RB is good. QB, TE, K and FG have questions. On paper, this is CBK most talented team of his career.

QB just needs to not turnover the ball and pick up key first downs. We can't have 3 straight years of mediocre QB play but QB is my biggest worry.

Y'all are gonna say DB and OL are not good. I say five of these DBs get drafted and more of the linemen. The 6 backup lineman have all started at least one game.

Y'all say true frosh LT. I say not because he was forced in by injury, but because the kid is a franchise LT!

Y'all say but transfers. I say these weren't bench-riders, they are multiple game starters, some with accolades, that wanted to shine.

Y'all say it'll take a couple of recruiting classes. I say 60yr old CBK didn't come here to win a championship in 2024. Not with NFLSU.

It's a down year in the SEC, 8&4 is the second toughest game on paper. (Does anyone think we aren't as talented as 8&4?)
I think it takes the first 5 games to gel. By the time we get UTK, this will be an athletic, well-coached top 5 team.

An early loss and a 6-1 finish. 10-2

2022 Coach O draftable Tigers (whenever they declare):
Top 100
Boutte
Nabors
B. Thomas
Ojulari
M. Smith
Roy
Guillory
Gaye
Penn
Burns

Draftable
Bech
Jenkins
Dellinger
Bradford
Wire
Goodwin
Emery
Nuss
Baskerville
Who?
Ward

Man that dude could recruit! Thanks for listening.

Coach O draftables. I assume you mean down the road since most of these guys are not eligible and some have not even played a college game. You drafting on high school potential?

I'm down with it.

If 2021 Mich State can do it, so can LSU.

You think this team is more talented than those Notre Dame teams he had in the CFP?

The DBs are far from elite Arguably the weakest position group on the team

Safeties are pretty solid. CB's are not.

I appreciate the pre week 1 optimism, but les broke me of that over time.

Hell, I didn't believe 2019 was happening until it happened. where in previous years I'd have been talking mad shite, I was like "well wait till... Tx, fl, bama..." Only then was it real.

I'm happy football is back, and if our D line/front 7 is nasty again I'm happy to watch LSU return to form and frick some people's shite up there, even if we drop some games.

Disagree. Everyone in the West is improved except for Auburn. Tennessee and South Carolina should be better as well. There is as much parity in the league as there has been in a while, IMO.

Absolutely. While talented, those Notre Dame teams fared rather poorly in the playoffs against superior competition. BK has never had access to this level of elite talent across the roster. Give him a couple of recruiting cycles and get the popcorn ready.

I'll lay money that if you could get an answer out of Kelly about his timing for legitimately competing for a national championship, he would probably say 2024, 2023 if things go perfectly.

Idk how you say the DBs are a strength with our corners.

Frankly idk how you say the LBers are a strength either. A lot of talent but idk man.

Also Punter is very good?

I don't think this is Brian Kelly's best team ever from a talent standpoint.

10-2 this year and he'll win multiple titles here

What's your optimistic W/L for 2022?
I mean Miles finished 10+ wins 7/11 seasons (full), then Saban and O were 2/5?

bama and a&m are the only top 10 teams on the schedule. florida, ole miss, ark, tenn and state are good but not contenders imo

Optimistic: 8-4. Outside chance of 9-3.

Next year 10-11, 24 competitive for playoff spots.

The sec is gonna be a meat grinder this year.

like you say a lot of talent. i think most are discounting their experience. Bramblett had a better average than Atkins . who was pretty good
