They will give him a raise to stay. 1) Penn State has plenty of money so c'mon 2) That might say how much they like the guy 3) Those Penn State fans are crazy and devoted. probably as close to SEC fans outside of the SEC

See what you have illustrated shows that they arent SEC level though. The guy is making what 500 grand? Somewhere along those lines?

If they were SEC level/dedication they dont have to light the lantern and ride the phone lines to compete on salary. I say this without ridicule at all. Its absurd that we have 2 defensive coordinators in the conference making 1.7 million. However this pay disparity is what catapulted the SEC far ahead. We paid for coaching talent and we won.

this is in line with what Penn State fans on other boards are saying. they say they'd make him the highest paid coordinator in the B1G.

i have no idea what that number is, but Im assuming its still much less that what we pay, unless Harbaugh changed that

Narduzzi at MSU makes $900K a year... highest paid in the B1G doesn't compare to SEC.

Narduzzi at Michigan St was the highest last year at 900k.

Anyways he said that James Franklin is very upset that Bob Shoop is interviewing at LSU, and that if this lingers past this weekend, that this will be dead.

Yall should check the Coaching Changes Board

I am the one that brought that sentiment here before the coaching changes board thread was started.

Any idea when Shoop is expected to interview? Not sure what the implication is that if it lasts until Monday, Shoop will stay at PSU.

I have no source . I meant I relayed it from a 247 poster to a Shoop Rant thread. The 16 page one.

The LSUNV guy seems to have the info, and he said that they are working on setting it up. That is all he knows.

Yep. Supposedly Shoop only makes 450K, while Penn St might offer him a raise, it doesn't mean they will double it. While LSU could easily give him 900K plus, and even if they match we can raise it 1.1 mil and still end up saving money from Chavis' contract

They need to get their guy and not worry about saving money.

Money saved from cheaper hire - money lost from losing more games will bring a much bigger deficit than shelling out more money. We spend far less than others on the recruiting side. Pay him what it takes and hire BeBe. Should balance things out.
