If Woodward truly wants to speak to Corbin then tonights game basically will decide if something "could" get done late this week or if this stretches into the weekend or middle of next week.

Vitello's going to be doing exit interviews today and has a contract extension on his desk and is ready.

O'Connor is in a similar situation with Corbin.

Godwin is ready

McDonnell is ready

Johnson is ready

If we don't hear anything by tomorrow on Vitello and Vanderbilt is still in the tournament then I think we know who Woodward has left in his search.

My hope is that he doesn't wait on Corbin to give him a no while Vitello signs an extension because he doesn't have time to wait with recruiting and the transfer portal coming up.

O'Connor has already told Mainieri that he has no interest of leaving Virginia.

In other news, Saban said he was not going to Alabama.

Just because the coaches say they haven't spoken to LSU, doesn't mean they haven't been negotiating with LSU thru their agents.

This thing is already done. They're just waiting to announce.

A few things

1) you never rush a hire based on a recruiting cycle. Never. See Alabama and Nick Saban

2) this is Woodward and not Alleva. If Tony V signs the extension then Scott has received a confirmation from his bigger fish

3) Relax. Scott Woodward is better at this than any other AD in the county and it’s not close. Let him do his job

Common sense is my source. If you want the top guy that's still playing, you can't let everyone else finish their season and sign extensions while you're standing there with your dick in your hand.

ETA - Well, Alleva would have. But Woody is too smart to let everyone else go while "hoping" Corbin says yes.

My comment was to the effect that I doubt Vitello would ever be the one to wait around if he knows he's not the first choice.

I agree with you on all of the Woodward comments.

I think Corbin is Woodwards guy. I think we have talked to other coaches and have eliminated some (O'Sullivan & Bianco) and probably have some on the back burner (Mcdonnel, Godwin, Johnson). I also think Woodward has spoke with Sexton regarding Vitello's interest. I still think Woodward makes Corbin tell him no before he moves on to anyone else.

So your source is common sense and yet you’ve post on the SEC rant that it’ll be announced at 4:30 today. What an absolute piece of shite you are.

I didn't know me trolling Tennessee fans would trigger you. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings on that other board.
