Both were moronic decisions by coaches. For some reason, coaches feel the "owe" it to the older guys.
You look at the best coaches you know...they play the better guy, period.
Sometimes, it's not the top guys fault, he's doing nothing wrong...its just that the younger guy has more all around qb talent.
It's gonna be hard to keep Max out of there. He has IT.

I think they knew that if Brennan started then the LSU spring game would receive top national billing. This would have caused everyone to watch it, even the President. The President was supposed to be meeting with Putin, so this would have been canceled, causing Putin to focus instead on Sino-Russian affairs.
Follow me here. With Putin and the Chinese getting all friendly, the Russians likely could have leveraged a natural gas deal that would have removed demand for US LNG. The collapse in the US LNG market would have hit several key LSU boosters hard in the pocket book. This would have resulted in a lack of booster funding to buy out CPM’s contract.
Tl;dr: Brennan benched so we can replace the baseball coach. Trust me on this; I have sources!

LOL, and he's more mobile right. Why do you think tis? Because you repeat what you've read here. Max is talented and at sometime be a good starter. The "He's more mobile "
tag line is made up. Max rushed for 297 yards in HS in 3 plus years as a starter. Brennan just a tad under 1,200 in 3 years. If Johnson was that gifted a running/mobile QB it would have shown. Especially in High School. I am encouraged by what I see in him, his dad resembled a light pole in the pros, Max is more athletic.

Has more to do with what was shown on the field, in SEC starts.

Brennan looked like a damn statue and would take sacks with what seemed to be no pocket awareness as a 4th year guy
Max would scramble away from pressure and actually look mobile, something Brennan failed to do
