I would like to add that JR is one of the most physically gifted QB's I have ever seen.

Yeah, and after seeing his interview on ESPN im starting to think he is legally retarded, so maybe my last post was misguided.

in a conference where tyson lee started tell me what the hell a "sec qb" is if our qbs aren't? What did we finish in the SEC last season?

SEC has had some pretty poor QB's IMO. Not comparable to Pac10, B10 or B12 college QB's of late.

JJ has the tangibles to be a quality QB. He lacks the intangibles.

very true, i always wonder what they mean by that. The SEC is not some elite qb conference compared to the big 12 or pac 10, all of the qbs on our roster are good enough to play here or they wouldn't have gotten a scholarship.

Yeah, LSU's QB's are par for the course. Not sure where people are getting this sub par thing from.

The closest thing I've seen to Chris Leak is Andre Woodson. Jefferson is harder to compare, maybe a slower version of Matt Jones? That's closest thing I can come up with.

JJ is nowhere near the runner Matt Jones is. I think the Campbell comparison may prove to be the closest one.

Right, which is why I said slower. I think if Jones was Jefferson's speed then they would have been pretty comparable passers. Matt Jones was one of the best runners I've ever seen.

He didn't deserve the MVP Charles Scott did.

No, JJ deserved it if anyone did. The game was really a team victory. It seemed like everyone played well. Scott had 3 TDs and had a good game. But he had 15 carries for 65 yards. I think that's a 4.3 yd./carry avg. He had one great carry on the first play for about 18 yards which was his longest of the game. A couple of the TDs were about as easy as they come. He did good, but nothing our other RBs couldn't have done in that game. KW had a 17-yard TD and averaged over 8 yds./carry on five touches.

JJ had one start before this game. He came in against a heavy favorite/highly ranked team and did more than manage it. He was elusive, sharp and made a couple of really exciting plays (which they look at for MVP consideration) while QBing LSU to the win. He ran well in that game and only had 40 yards less than Scott rushing. Most importantly, he threw a TD and didn't turn the ball over. Our other QB at that point probably couldn't have done that, so JJ was the MVP. He also had an awesome bomb for a TD that was called back because of some little penalty. He didn't post gigantic numbers or anything, but he did play a very good game (as did the rest of the team).

Having 4 weeks to prepare for one game helps alot.. It just blows my mind that everyone uses the GT game as his standout game. He managed the game. He got the ball to play makers and didn't turn the ball over, yet he struggled mightily to that on a consistent basis last year.

GT had four weeks to prepare - it didn't help them much.

JJ highlights, etc. from the Peach Bowl. Mute if you don't like rap.

As to the topic, I don't see how JJ is like Chris Leak.

And JJ is not like Aaron Brooks as far as I can see. JJ looks like he actually cares and doesn't smile after making mistakes.
