You have to read the back of your tickets. It plainly states on the back if you are supposed to stand or sit all game. During that year that you waited in your house you should have read the back of your ticket. I checked it out for you, your section is supposed to sit all game. No wonder why they were all mad at you.

why doesn't LSU or TAF or whoever controls these tickets have standing (optional) section(s) for non-students? If the current holders of those seats didn't like it, then they could be allowed to switch with somebody who did want to be in that section.
It isn't that crazy really...there are sections in NFL stadiums where if you sit in that section, you can't bitch when people stand b/c everybody knows they are going to (Dawg Pound, Black Hole, etc)
So many people in the 25-40 range still have the energy and want to stand/yell just like they did when they were students. why not give it a shot? Tiger Stadium would be even louder

face it...cash rules everything and people with money suck. The "Baton Rouge" section of TS absolutely sucks. they come late, sit down, and leave early.

I stood for most of the first half. A few of us did. The older gentleman behind me kindly asked us to "give it a break for a few plays." I obliged out of consideration, and also because I have read on td all of the heated debates on the issue.

don't have to worry about people complaining about people standing in the student section, everyone stands in the student section if you sit and your not on the front row you will not be able to see and no one will sit down even if you ask.

when you purchase all the seats behind you, you are allowed to stand the whole game, otherwise, sit you butt down and stand for the national anthem, or go and watch the TEXAS AGGIE, they don't know what seats are for either

I am 50 and I stand. But, my rheumatiz bothers me when I get home. Plus this helps with my aching back. Energy ain't the prob.

SEZ section 418 row 9 and folks were standing and being pretty loud.

Two things come to mind: (1)if you have the right to ask people to stand, the reverse is also true, and (2)those of us who attend all games don't need someone who attends one game per year telling us when we should stand!

All that standin' and yellin' sure paid dividends.

I'm a season ticket holder and I have absolutely zero problem with people standing in front of me. The two in front of me stood and I stood up well.
But what some of you don't understand is that you come to games once in a blue moon and want to savor the night by going crazy. That's fine with me. But you have to realize that a lot of us sitting around you have been coming to games for 25+ years. And while we do get excited like everybody else, it's not such a "brand new experience" to us that it is to some of you. So we're not necessarily going to be standing the entire game and acting a fool as much as those of you that don't get to do it all the time. I hate to sound snobby about it and have no intentions to, but that's just how it is plain and simple. But I know some people are going to get offended and that's fine.
For example, if you move out of state and never get to eat Louisiana food - it's like freaking heaven to come back and eat some etoufee, gumbo, fish, etc. You almost savor every bite and wonder how the hell others aren't eating that every night. But when you move back or live here, you get tired of it and sometimes feel like eating other things and when you do eat it, you don't sit there and savor every single bite.
That being said, I have no problem with you acting crazy and standing. But don't come sit in front of me and act like you own the place if this is the first game you've been to all year.
And last but not least crowd noise was not a factor for the Florida game. The atmosphere was actually pretty crazy and loud until the LSU offense took the crowd noise out the game, ironically.

Paul put it nicely...when coming back to TS is a novelty, you want to raise a little more hell. Understandable, but when you're there week in, week out, even the novelty wears off a bit. Stand if you want, I don't care. I'll find a way to look around you. BUT if you want to get that 'old school' feeling back, come travel with us sometime. Travelin' Tigers all stand. We're louder, drink more, eat more and generally show the hometown crowd what REAL fans are like. There were 17,000 of us in Seattle. Locals couldn't believe we would do that. In Georgia, even the local sports announcers mentioned how loud the Tiger fans were. Nobody sits on the road. Try it sometime.

Thank you - that's the point I was trying to get across.
I love the road crowd. Went to Auburn last year and enjoyed the entire game. And you're right, the road LSU fans stand more.
But I'm glad you got my point.

It's only going to get worse. TAF is about making money. As more and more season tickets turn over to TAF, the more will be sold to the corporate clients and big spenders who use the tickets to entertain clients and attend games as social events. The real Tiger Fan enthusiasm is not there. Eventually, regardless of how successful the team is or is not, the nature of the fanbase is and will continue to change. Don't know how long this process wil take but most games will eventually become sellouts or near sellouts but you will hardly ever see a full house in Tiger Stadium. TAF will be just a happy as they can be as long as they get the benefit from ticket sales.

I have season tickets in the SEZ.
I fly a thousand miles to witness three or four games a season.
I stand, I scream, I howl, I act like a loon.
No one seems to mind.

I attend 90% of the home games, and atleast 2 or 3 away games a season. I pay for my tickets therefore I will choose to entertain myself for those 3-4 hours a game however I like... anybody that disagrees with me standing can STFU
