Those clearly made a huge impact on drops, catching in traffic, and focus with the ball in the air.

Love this:

link? Who tweeted this?

It wasn't 2 summers ago. 2019 was the beginning of these drills initiated by Joe Brady.

They should do everything that Brady did. Everything.

I think the guy just made an error in his tweets or Orgeron mispoke. It was last summer.

The tweet is one the front page, I'll get it on here though.

Steve is a great Tiger but if they were his drills he would have installed them when he became OC. He didn’t. It’s ok to acknowledge Brady’s importance without denigrating Coach E.

Of course WRs should drill catching. That’s common sense, and LSU has done that in the past with predictable success. But LSU hired a coach (maybe Sullivan) who made a point of deemphasizing catching drills and using that time to emphasize route running. If that sounds stupid it’s because it is, but I remember reading that during the offseason, then noting that LSU had tons of drops.

It’s not the innovative techniques that made, and will make, LSU receivers catch great, it’s the leadership that motivates them to be out in the practice facility 20 hours per week during the offseason like Alex Bregman was. This is even harder to maintain after winning a championship, because people naturally relax after reaching the top.

This! Its why Brady was brought in to help with new concepts/formations etc.... Why would him leaving stop what they learned from him? The man was a genius and will probably be a NFL head coach one day.

Neat, Brady was the WR coach which the thread is about.
