As a past receiver I know you really don't have time to be nervous about catching a thrown ball. However, what catch this last season by LSU do you think the receiver was most nervous about while the ball was in route? My answer: Alabama's on side kick at the end of game when Jefferson calmly jumped and pulled it down to essentially end the game.....I bet his stomach was in knots.

Clyde seeing a ball thrown at his shoelaces on a borderline must get 3rd and 10 where he caught the ball 7 yards short of a first down.

frick, I wanna say it was against UGA Burrow hit Terrace on a perfect pass and he dropped it. I'd imagine the next time he went his way he was pretty nervous.

There was a 3rd down late in the bama game when it was one score and it hit Jefferson in the chest and bounced off of him. He recaught it but it just looked like one of those dumbass plays that cost a W vs Bama

Had flashbacks to Trey Quinn’s drops

Now if I changed it to best catch of the year it has to by acclimation go to Moss' sideline catch against Alabama at the one foot line. That was just a person's complete-every-inch-of-his-mind-soul-and body determined to catch a ball.

Jefferson’s catch against Florida for a TD, barely got it in the end zone being he was coming back out. Was a tight game at that point

Nerves are for fans. Players just execute and react.

Long third down in the championship game against Clemson Chase catches it on the sideline and picks up some blocks and gets the first down. I believe it was in the 3rd quarter when Clemson came back on us and had all the momentum.

Not enough time to be nervous. Clyde did not know that play was coming to him until he turned and the ball was there.

I'd go with 3rd and 17. Jetts knew when he broke the huddle that he was the man. He knew a lot was on the line. And he had a second to think it into his hands. There was never another game that had much drama that late other than Bama, and I can't think of a fourth quarter play against Bama that involved a do-or-die long throw.

As an aside: I was playing flag football 30 years ago on a very competitive team. Fourth down at the end of a playoff game, and we were down a couple of points. I ran a decoy route deep left on a play flowing right. QB ends up scrambling my way and lofts an across the body duck deep to me. The ball came exactly to me so that I couldn't even move. I had almost three seconds of watching that ball drop to me. I just kept repeating "Catch it!" in my head, and fortunately did not drop it. It was nerve wracking!

For sure man. Nerves of steel. No emotions allowed. Gotta be a robot out there.
