For me the most intense games were the ones when I was in college. I was young, irrational, opinionated, heated, short-tempered, hyper .. I was a mad man at a lot of games back then, as were most of my friends I always sat with. Over the years I've become more tame. That being said, I'd say my top 5 most intense games were:

1 / BCS title game '03
2 / Georgia '03
3 / Tennessee '00
4 / Florida '04
5 / Arkansas '07

Didn't know 43 was too young, but I will take it. Grew up in BR, but didn't go to a lot of games growing up. Maybe 1 per year and it was usually a cupcake game. Didn't start going to games on a regular basis til '96.

They were talking about LSU-USC 79 on college football radio show the other day. First I had heard of it, but they were swearing up and down that it was one of the most intense games in the history of football.

The great thing about it is what Ronnie Lott has to say - it validates what everyone who attended has always felt.

I was very young, but to this day, no sporting event I've ever attended has made the same impression on me.

fricking shite was real
I was there. Actually, I think a better description would be surreal. Incredible feeling. Never thought I'd see it (modern-day NC) in my lifetime. Saw my first LSU game in 1959.

Oregon state for me. I was a frosh and it was my first game in student section. I remember just getting tackled down the stands by random dudes after jmarc won the game.

TimeAndTide, thanks for posting that article, one of the best sports articles I've ever read. The comment by Ronnie Lott is unbelievable. It backs up what I heard on the radio, they kept talking about the energy level, and the electricty in the air.
