Thursday night game in the middle of nowhere means you have to basically take off 2 days. Hell i live about 2 1/2 hours from Starkville and I will have a problem going.

Don't be criticizing the State fans when we didn't sell out our allotment either. If this game were in BR on a thursday I dare say there'd be lots and LOTS of empty seats.

starkville is in the BFE of the SEC. Even if you lived in Jackson, it still means you basically have to take off at 1 or 2ish and be back home like at 2am. like op said, its not like the game is in Baton Rouge where you can practically work til 4 and easily make the game.

LSU still has tickets for sale to this game and LSU fans are trying to dump their tickets for less than face. Don't throw stones at glass houses.

It's not our job to sell out their stadium

Considering this is their biggest game of the year outside of Alabama, you would think state would have sold out their stadium.

The OP said tickets were left to actually buy. I could care less if the seats are empty as long as they have been sold, ticket revenue goes to LSU.

It sort of is.

They have two visitors sections in the lower level, Sections A and W (the tip of the horseshoe on each side). And then almost the entire 300 level up top is visitor seating as well.

If you are an LSU fan sitting in the upper deck on the 300 level side, expect to be in the majority.

You do know that other than students, most MSU fans have to travel even to MSU home games don't you? Starkville isn't a metropolis. Thursday nite games suck for most people. Leave that week night crap for the small schools.

Not everyone can take the day off, plus the last min day change makes it nearly impossible to plan the game into ur week.

I love how LSU fans are ripping State on this one. If the tables were turned, I think our actual attendance tomorrow night wouldn't be jammed packed and our situation is totally different with 2/3 of the state's population within 1.5 hours of BR

Pretty sure it's been known to be a Thursday night game for some time.

ETA: we had a packed house for the Monday night game in 2005 even after 2 of the biggest natural disasters in our states history had struck within the previous month.

In the good old days before Obama, people did not worry about taking a day off for a football game. Now that he has driven the economy so far into the ditch we may never come out, people that still have a job are scared to miss a day. Geaux Tigers!
