I really thought he was going to lose it when he said "I'm not doing anything to hurt it" when talking about his team.

I love it he says he doesnt want to talk about jobs then one of our great meadia guys asks him first question out the gate about the Meechigan job got to love it.

I hope he stays but if he decides to leave and go home after he wins us our thrid National Championship I say good luck and god bless.

Mike, thanks for the insight. My reaction was pretty much the same. Despite the temptation on anyone's part to want to say definitively that he is gone or he is staying, I think he means just what he says -- he wants to focus on this season and this team and will turn his attention to Michigan if and when that opportunity comes to him.

He sounds a little pissed at Lloyd with the "the timings just great" sarcastic swipe.

Agreed. Miles is a class act through and through. He's in a tough spot that many of us can't relate too. He lives for his team, but the Maize and Blue hold a special place in his heart.

Kinda gave me chills to hear the man speak from the heart like that. He's a classy guy, that's for sure.

He chose his words very carefully there in how he phrased it....

IN MY OPINION (note that it is just my opinion adn feeling and doesn't deserve Rantards getting crack-headed over it), he wants the job and that was his way of making things publicly right with Carr in the event that Carr has any say in the next coach...

MANY people feel that the reason Carr retired now and not after a bowl game at season's end is because he doesn't like Les and knows that Les could be playing until the second week in January in the Title game and thought that it would give Michigan the incentive of those 7 weeks to get someone else and not have to wait that long for Les...

Crafty move by Carr if indeed that is the case and he doesn't want Les to have the gig... Miles did publicly say that Carr was not the guy for that job after a key loss a few years back and it got him in trouble with Carr and they are not friendly because of it...

People all have different feelings about this video presser, but IMO he chose his words very carefully not to turn off Michigan and yet try to patch things up with Carr publicly by showing him some respect...

I think he's gone if they offer it to him... Will they offer it to him? ...now that is no lock if you ask me.... He might be #1 on the list as it stands, but it wouldn't shock me if they went another way, but i do think Les would go in a heart beat if they offered

I watched ESPN News all day after the announcement from my office and they were talking about it... While I knew that Miles and Carr weren't on great terms I never understood why, but today a couple of journalists were talking about it... I think Forde was one of them...

Supposedly, when Miles was still with Dallas (which had to be more then just a few years back), he said in the media following some Michigan loss that Carr was not the right coach for Michigan (I'm sure there was more specific comments made beyond that which were damaging to Carr but they were speaking in general about it today on ESPN)...

So, supposedly they have not been on good terms since that point, which was a while back if indeed he was working for the Dallas Cowboys... the fact that they have probably been to many Michigan-related events since that time and have crossed paths (not to mention Schembechler's funeral) and STILL have not buried the hatchet says alot about their disliking of each other if you want to make common sense out of it...

I think Les was clearly patching things up some by flattering Carr publicly today in the presser...

just my opinion
