Its pretty simple, Miles may be in high demand (we dont know for sure if UM wants him). When ur in high demand, you can use leverage to better your situation.
He meets with UM. If he can get a better deal from UM than he can from LSU, then no hard feeling he leaves LSU for his alma mater and goes home.
If UM does not offer a deal he cant refuse, he stays at LSU and is very happy and contends for a NC next year.
Miles is in a win win situation and would be stupid to slam the door on UM without even trying to get more out of LSU. Its business.

Movie wasn't all that except for 2 brief parts involving a weatherman trying to give a weather forecast from a roller coaster, then from the cockpit of a fighter jet. I'm talking shooting coke out of your nose funny - worth the "meh" rest of the movie.
ETA - Plus that bum shot of McAdams - never knew she was so curvacious. Chick is a believer in the stairmaster.

I think its the place he started and he wants to show them respect by hearing them out and politely telling them no. I don't think he will go unless they just dwarf LSUs offer which I have no idear if they can or will pay him more then LSU.
