Lest we forget, Rich Rodriguez ran the offense that went 12-0 at Tulane. He won big at W. Virginia. Give him the time to recruit his type of offensive players and he will win at Michigan. If he can coach an undefeated offense at Tulane and win at W. Virginia, it's just a matter of time until he restores Michigan to prominence in the Big 10. He hasn't forgotten how to coach.

As for Les Miles, he recruits great players and assistant coaches with the best of them. My guess is that he will still be at LSU long after Saban has worn out his welcome at Bama.

If Michigan comes calling again, LM will probably take it. He knows how fickle and tenuous coaching in the SEC can be. Pretty sure he doesn't want to live thru another year of scrutiny as in '08. If Michigan fails to improve in the next two years under RR, pretty sure Miles would be at the top of the list, IF his stock stays high.

A 4 loss season this year will start to put heat on him here, however.

Yeah, I find it almost laughable how people just assume he's going to fail at Michigan. He's been successful everywhere he's ever been-why in the world would Michigan be any different?

Ohio State, Penn State Recruiting. It will be tough to recruit against these 2 in that region. I do think he will be, but not as successful unless he comes down here to get his players. Otherwise, I think he has to change his style of offense... If T Pryor is running a W.Va style offense at Ohio State, then there may be hope for the little 10 and RR...

But does he really have to recruit against them? I mean, Lloyd Carr recruited to Michigan. Doesn't it kinda recruit itself?

Miles will have to consider another job, should he not find a defense this year. He is not considered a top coach and not being able to select winning assistant coaches will get his job. He is becoming more acceptable, but when you have this kind of material........you better win and big!

If Rodriguez doesn't work out, UM will look at Miles and he will go this time.

By who? Nobody that counts, I'd imagine

Dude, selecting winning assistants is probably his biggest strength. Sure, he whiffed on the DC last year, but that doesn't erase the other 95% of his assistant decisions. Especially coordinators. If you say that he just inherited Jimbo, that means that he's hired Crowton, Pelini, Malvetto, and Chavis. 3 of those 4 are great hires, especially considering who were legitimate choices at the time. 75% great hires is a percentage I can live with.

And I think he's in the process of building a monster at LSU.

According to an Alabama fan in my squadron, Miles is a moron and is going to lead to the destruction of LSU football. According to him, LSU is going to get progressively worse. He said we should've taken Saban's advice and hired Houston Nutt.

I still think he would have gone if the story was not leaked.

It's all relative, but the media would once again be bringing Little Debbie snack cakes to LSU press conferences to passify the head coach........

Don't forget a QB who threw nearly as many TD passes to the other team as he did to his own.
