when Ware lines up in the gun and Shep goes in motion as the sweep man, I'm gonna tear up.

You don't always have to surprise defenses, just execute. Shep needs to do what he does best, run with the ball in his hands. I don't understand why he doesn't take direct snaps either though. Will always wonder what if.

As far as OP's question I'd say earn. But you never know, some players may not be a fan. Seems like a really good guy to me though. I want him with 5 touches a game.

Earning, but he has a lot of ground to make up for not playing him more before the last few weeks.

I like Miles, but hearing him talk about getting Shep involved with 3 games left in his career infuriates me. I'm glad he is doing it now rather than not at all, but this should of been a focus offensively for the past 3 seasons, especially considering the QB situation.

I agree with an early ranter, I don't see why Les runs him off tackle. Surely after 4 years Les knows he is a scat back

Just watched some of his film from high school on YouTube. First it a appears he CAN throw the ball with accuracy and velocity so I'll never understand why he's never thrown a pass. Secondly most of his runs in high school appear to be up the middle, out of a scramble, but it was his straight ahead speed and moves that made him explosive. Not running a sweep. I know Miles tried a lot of different variations but i think running back (scat back) would have been his best bet at the NFL. Oh well.

So he's the second or third best rb on the team?

He's averaging 8.5ypc. He should be getting the ball a lot more, especially his freshman season

Shep has had a hard time finding a niche, so miles is making Shep some highlights for scouts.

This is why players love miles.

he was our only good offensive player in 2009 and miles would just take him away after being productive.

He's earned those carries every year at LSU, not sure why they quit giving them to him

Both. Earning because he's a Sr. and the right thing to do plus he's productive. Losing, because where's this guy been for 2 yrs. He's been there all along and his talent has been squandered in my opinion. We have great RB's, but he's the natural replacement for an injured Blue IMO.
He's not as big or as strong, but he's a slasher. Too few touches I think last year and this year.

But to take carries away from Hilliard and even McGee on off-tackle runs seems silly.

Why on earth are you suggesting that our super-secret jump pass specialist should be used for running the football?
