Miles is above average. He isn't perfect, probably not an elite X/0 guy but there are very very few coaches I would trade him for.

Thanks for bringing up all the negatives. If you searched the internet, I'm sure you could find more.

fricking amazing! All the Miles haters are looking for ammo where ever they can...even if it means creating it.

Quick question: If losing games that he was expected to lose makes Miles a bad coach, then what do you think of Saban that actually loses several games his teams were heavily favored to win? (anyone remember the UAB game that oh holy Saban lost!)

Underdogs vs UGA SECCG (Loss)

We were favored that game....after 2 hurricanes and playing 12 weeks in a row.

NO! Should be: Big10 coach loses SEC games because he applies his Big10 coaching against SEC opponents. Just ask OHIGHO STATE! Somebody should have told him after the first SEC game that Scott off tackle won't work this year because we don't have the type of O-line to make a hole for him. Yet, game after game, we keep trying 10-12 times/game. Oh, I forgot! It did work one time for RS.

I know you won't understand this because you spent your whole life playing Madden instead of real football, but sometimes you have to run plays (even if they don't work as well as you would like) in order to set up other plays or to keep the defense "honest"

and how the hell.......never mind you people are just idiots.......Guess Miles will never be good enough for some of your. Can we make a deal? When Miles wins another NC, can you all hold hands while you all jump off a cliff!

I get your point, and so does just about everyone else on here. The problem is that your point is stupid. I've seen and agreed with much more informed and thought out criticisms of Miles. I just can't agree with yours because it's flat out stupid. I'm saying you're stupid, but if one were to judge your intelligence using only this thread, it would rate pretty high on the stupid scale.

How retarded can you be? Saban won many games we weren't suppose to win when he was here, do I need to name them?

Yes sonnyboy, you do. While your at it, give us the games we were favored to win that LSU lost because of nick the midget.

Aside from just calling you the dumbass that you deserve to be called, I'll actually play along here a bit.

You are cherry picking on your list of games we were "supposed" to win.

Pretty sure we were NOT favored to beat undefeated Bama on the road in 2005.

Also, I'm not sure we were favored at UT in 2006, and damn sure weren't favored at 10-1 Arkansas that same year.

Also, since you're throwing out this year's UGA game as an underdog since, in your opinion, we were "supposed" to win, I'm going to throw in Arizona State after a shitstorm to start the season on the road as a game we were not "supposed" to win. I can't see how that team had any expectations to be prepared after all they went through, and they won that "home game" IN ARIZONA.

Also, while we may have been slight favorites, I don't think anyone in the country considered VT or Florida in 2007 games we were "supposed" to win. Those were THE BIGGEST GAMES OF THE YEAR against two top teams both of which had a 50/50 shot to beat us, and we won them both, one of them in a goddamn bloodbath.

Also, saying that we were "supposed" to beat Tennessee in the SECCG after a heartbreaking loss that seemingly ended our national title hopes, with a QB making his FIRST start against an SEC opponent after losing our starter to injury is not giving NEARLY enough credit to our coach.

I'm done playing your game now. Now, I'm going to call you a dumbass like I should have from the beginning. Dumbass. GFY.

You all are idiots. I just hope we will be fortunate to see another NC under Miles, bc if not, its going to be 10 years of decline, and I'll be the first to say, the best thing that ever happened to LSU is Miles to Michigan.

Caljammer,

The problem is you are trying to make your point in the shawdow of Miles' accomplishments, which include 1) a NC in a very short time as HC, 2) top recruiting classes, 3) very good w/l ratio per season, and 4) very decent bowl games/bowl victories.

Couple the above with the fact Perilloux did not work out and the effects of that fact, which were huge on this season and last, the seasons upon which you are basing your arguments.

Yes, if Miles continues to lose to Fla and Alabama every season; that is, if that becomes a trend with him, then yes, that will be unacceptable to most LSU fans.

However, you are questioning Miles too soon.

I'm calling bullshite. I find it hard to believe we were favored to win at Knoxville in 2006 and at Tuscaloosa to an undefeated Crimson Tide in 2005, and at Arkansas in 2006.

I want to know where you found all these lines. You seem to be the epitome of cherry picking right now. And basically full of shite.

That's classic ranter logic right there. However, I do agree with the OP that it looks like we are headed for guaranteed 2 or 3 losses per year, every year, no matter the talent level.

What did you really expect last year with all the QB issues we had? And this year. Everyone predicted 9-3 or 10-2. Why you ask? We're still young at QB. We'll be a different team next year... book it.

Maybe you should give Miles credit for coaching up a team that's favored to win most games.

I guess I'd rather we just not suck and always be underdogs, so that we could overcome the odds.

Was he "supposed" to win all of those bowl games? Was he "supposed" to win a NC?

ridiculous -

miami and georgia tech don't count?...

notre dame in the sugar bowl not a high pressure win?...

ohio state doesn't count?...

wtf - the fact is miles has won big time games...

12 - 2 in the national championship season - whatever - the team only met expectations? stfu

there are numerous examples of miles winning big games as the underdog - ask bob stoops

when you have to beat the likes of bama, florida, ole miss, arkansas and mississippi state year-in, year-out... play the class of the eastern division in a championship game... cope with catastrophic signature events in katrina, rita and gustav...

yes the man is an underachiever...
