They would just find reason to hate them. I mean, when we were dropping 40 on people week in week out they were still starting threads complaining about trivial shite. (can't remember the threads or I'd link em).

I think Miles did a great job of managing the distractions this year and getting the team ready to play. This year has been his best coaching job. I will give him full credit for the 13 wins if everyone else is going to give him full blame for the one loss.

I do think they he should take some heat for the way the team looked, but don't forget how the team looked the other 13 times we played. It has to be balanced.

What if you had 13 great days at work and 1 bad day?

I am very critical of Miles, but I also support him. That is what is best for the program. LSU hired Les Miles and they got Les Miles. He is going to be himself...just as Nick Saban is not going to change who he is. When he played JJ the first half I just subscribe to the notion he is in a better position to make that call than we are. I must admit that I don't understand why JL didn't at least come in at 15-0 with the game over anyway. But again we can be critical but in the end, he is the coach and he won the SEC and we finished with a better record than Bama. I would ask what coach was available and willing to come to LSU at the time of Les Miles' hire that would have been a better coach with a better record than Les Miles?

Now I have generally heard that the players like Les Miles so I am concerned about some of the statements being made by some players this week that tend not to support this theory but given the magnitude of the loss, this could be reactionary and temporary. Everybody needs some time to calm down and reflect.

we are the ONLY major football program in this state and we can't beat the state of Alabama who has the same population. 3 NC's from that state in 3 years. We even have more blue chip prospects in our state and we can never close the deal. It is a content with mediocrity mentality.

I have actually been refreshed and encouraged by the absence of reactionary defenses of Miles in the wake of Monday's debacle. I think most rational LSU fans recognize that Miles was badly, badly outcoached. Moreover, he just lost a key recruiting battle to Saban as well. Hard to make a case he is better than Saban right now. All evidence points to the contrary. Which is disheartening.

I am a huge Miles supporter. I have also been critical and perplexed of the way Miles has handled the QB position. We don't know all the facts nor do we go to practices. We have to trust Miles on this.

I have never been a fan of JJ. Because of his lack of leadership and his lack of taking the blame when he screwed up. This is the main reason he never improved, he thought he was all world. JJ has NFL physical skills with a high school (at best) mindset.

That won't go over with the Miles disciples. I've tried that logic in the past and it went right over their heads

Only to blow it again when it matters most.

Or more likely blow it against an inferior opponent which has been Miles M.O. every year except for this year.

People act like we have some sort of choice between Miles and Saban. Like LSU can make a trade at any time they want with Alabama and we just aren't doing it.

Bottom line: If Miles stays for another 5 years I expect to win about 50 games. There are only about 3-4 coaches I can think of that I can say with confidence would win that many games - and none of them are leaving to come to LSU
