Sure, the situation for 2012 and beyond must be addressed, but does anyone really believe that it won't be?
Why on earth would anyone believe anything else? The situation for 2008 and 2009 weren't addressed. What's going to be different about 2012?

I'm just pointing out that the situations at these other schools are not a whole lot different than our own.
Yes, they're drastically different. Those schools' coaching staffs have actually experienced at least some success evaluating/recruiting/developing a QB. This staff is 0-for-5 and counting.

I don't believe this for a second. If Jefferson is not producing Miles will sit him down in a heartbeat.
Like last year?

To think injury is the only way he comes off the field is a bit unrealistic IMO.
Injury is the only way Hatch and J. Lee came off the field in 2008. Injury is the only way Jefferson came off the field in 2009. That's suddenly different now?

With all due respect, it's incorrect to chalk Lee and Jefferson up as "closed cases" like you appear to have done, seeing that they are just now going into their junior season.
Starting QBs under Miles
Russell ... did great under Miles
Flynn ... did great under Miles
Perrilloux ... did fine under Miles for a very short time, then kicked off team (biggest QB bust so far under Miles)
Lee ... still remains to see what he'll be remembered for as he has half his LSU playing career remaining
Jefferson ... still remains to e seen what he'll be remembered for as he has half his LSU playing career remaining

No offense but I would put you UNDER the carpet.

With Fisher as his QB coach.

Flynn ... did great under Miles
For one year, after four years with Fisher as his QB coach.

Perrilloux ... did fine under Miles for a very short time, then kicked off team (biggest QB bust so far under Miles)
Yes, his first QB recruit. A big bust.
quote:
Lee ... still remains to see what he'll be remembered for as he has half his LSU playing career remaining
And in his third year under Miles and Crowton, could not start for the #112 offense in the country. The one start he did get due to injury to the starter, we scored 24 points and got outgained by a crippled Louisiana Tech team, managing only 246 yards. And as for what he'll be remembered for, I'll venture a guess...pick sixes.

Jefferson ... still remains to e seen what he'll be remembered for as he has half his LSU playing career remaining
It would take a drastic and unprecedented (under Miles/Crowton) improvement for him to be remembered for anything but being one of the weakest parts of one of the weakest offenses in the country and in LSU history.

They have five years between them in the system and each has basically a whole season of starting experience. They haven't produced. Maybe they're not capable, maybe they are but aren't being coached right, but they are busts until proven otherwise.
Even assuming, however, that they are not "closed cases", that leaves three that are...Perrilloux, Shepard and Garrett. 14 stars among the three of them, and no reliable starting QB to show for it. In your best case scenario, this staff is 0-for-3 and trailing big in the two still pending.

Dont make too much sense for the Miles' bashers, they live to complain. A friend of mine told me there was a direct correlation to the Miles bashers and those with an insane number of posts. I generally came to this site for the good recruiting info.

That's fair enough, I just totally disagree that they should be labeled "busts" at the moment. It's way too early to do that IMO.
Hopefully, they (or at least one of them) can finally get over the mystical "hump" this year and prove you wrong. If they can't, then we'll certainly have issues these next two seasons.
Everyone knows Jefferson wasn't terrible last year (and anyone who claims differently is either stubborn or stupid), but he most certainly wasn't great last year either. I have a feeling things will "slow down" for Jefferson this year and he'll have a solid year barring injury. We shall see soon enough.

I don't think RP was overrated, he proved in the SEC championship game his ability; his downfall was off the field attitude...

OK. I forget how GREAT he was FOR ONE FRICKIN GAME!!!!!!!!!! LSU would NOT have been any better in 08.

must have been a bunch of terrible qb's last year.
Bama and va tech were within five spots of us. Oregon, ok st, unc, Ohio state, and Nebraska were all worse than our passing offense. Not to mention 3 SEC teams that were well below them.
Stats are not the whole story, just wanted to put that out there though.

ASide from [maybe] UNC, All those teams BEAT LSU.

This is true, but the offense was just awful.

Yeah, he looked so over-rated in the 2007 SEC CG.

We averaged 24 points/game last year. We need to be averaging at least 30 points/game.

here's mine, speaking for Miles:
"I ran out of gas. I got a flat tire. I..uh..didn't have change for cab fare. I left my tux at the cleaners! I locked my keys in the car! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake, locusts,. . .a terrible flood! IT WASN'T MY FAULT I SWEAR TO GOD!!! "
