Didn't McNeese St. already start school, or at least, hasn't the late registration date already passed?

any chance he sits out this season and rather than return to LSU in 2013 he goes ahead and declares for the draft after a year off?
Definitely a chance IMO. If he does indeed try the return to LSU route and finds it too difficult to adhere to the requirements, I fully expect he would declare.

I believe there's actually a 12-day window that he could still go to McNeese (heard it on Moscona's show yesterday, supposedly a former McNeese coach said that)
it's not "standard" but in special cases they can extend it up to 12 days from either yesterday or today

I think that actually gives him the most options. He can work out all year. Stay in shape. Try to get back on the team. If it doesn't work, he can declare. He has a back stop and ability to mature as a student and person.

Getting back on the football field is the reward, not the goal. Once he reaches his goal, football may not be the path he chooses. The world is full of former players who found a higher calling once they got their life straight. Either way I'm pulling for him.

I like how he came back today with his "I have super secret inside info" implication shite a few pages back. Guy's been entertainment gold the past few days.

If yall haven't seen it already, Kleinpeter updated his original story:

An LSU official disputed the report that Miles advised Mathieu either way, but that he simply laid out the options available to him in the conversation.
Fox-8 TV reporter Jennifer Hale said Mathieu's uncle and guardian, Tyrone Mathieu, disputed the story in a phone interview, saying Miles did not advise Mathieu to leave. Hale said in the report the elder Mathieu told her the call was one of concern for Tyrann's health and progress in conquering his demons, and that Miles encouraged him to focus on his education and get his life in order.

Sound like lsu wants to see the kid act right for a year before entertaining the idea of letting him back on the team.
Don't tell me, show me.. In other words.

VC, anything new from your end?
no nothing changed...pretty much same as before from LSU side. They just had enough of him, but honestly want him to do well in his life...as do most of us here. I can't speculate on other side, well I could, but it would be just that....speculation.

What other path do you think he would take?

Just to clarify your position further.... it's basically LSU would prefer him to move on (but is genuinely concerned with TM getting his life in order), and TM wants to stay, but LSU is kind of in an akward position given the circumstances and is just slow-playing and hoping that he transfers?

Who's done with him? Miles? Alleva? Your super secret source? Are you trying to tell us that his dad is lying now too?
