Miles and Mainieri both failed at producing consistent offenses, and both are stubborn

It’s funny bc a few years ago the Maineri to miles comparisons were downvoted heavily

Disagree, pm has tried to change his hitting coaches. To do so far what his hitting coach has done this year so far with this young team isn't too bad. Sec is loaded. Lsu taking their lumps this year. End of story. There is nothing more to see here

Both stubborn yes, but Miles offenses were very consistent for the most part, toss dive, and up the middle.

Last night pm said LSU would have to adjust to conditions
Meanwhile vandy bangs out 17 hits in those same conditions

You’re free to do so but Miles tried changing offensive coaches too,the problem starts at the top!

Miles had the excuse of had to adjust to conditions” that’s why LSU would not pass the ball meanwhile other teams threw for 300 yards.

Ok, and how many times did Miles change OCs??

When you change OC/ Hitting coaches multiple times and the problem still occours, it normally means the issue is elsewhere.

God forbid that a coach is "stubborn"!!!

What we need are coaches that are insecure and wishy-washy, ones that have no self confidence in them selves or their systems. We need more coaches that are more like the fan base that panic at every little obstacle.

Let's hear it for coaches that aren't "stubborn".

Vandy came in batting 30 points plus as a team better than LSU and improved after some after some poor defense on our part. Confidence is contagious. The weather was definitely a factor so we had more adjusting to do than Vandy. Vandy adjusted and our guys didn’t. Plus Rocker pitched a little better than Marceaux last night. Again, confidence. We had some early but let it slip away with poor play.

The stubborn thing is a stupid charge. Every coach who fails is ipso facto stubborn.

If a coach is losing you will disagree with his methods, even though you would agree with those same methods if the coach is winning.

If the coach changes his methods (Mainieri and Miles both radically changed. Miles radically altered his offense and Mainieri went all in for small ball, then reverted to a slugging lineup within the last two seasons) you will still disagree with his methods if he is losing.

Eventually you will call him stubborn unless he starts winning.

God forbid that Mainieri is so stubborn that he leave his pitchers in too long before pulling them.
