Mike Gundy had to kick off like 10 starters when he got the OSU job because Miles was such a good disciplinarian.

No he didn't.

That's stupid.

Gundy probably booted 1 - 2 players... 1 of which was Prentiss Eliot, a once in the lifetime talent in Oklahoma that is a "risk/reward" type of player.

People ignorant of actual facts should probably remain silent, both virtually and otherwise, as opposed to speaking out and removing all doubt, as the old aphorism goes.

That said, Gundy booted TWO players, a total of TWO players off the team, one of whom was the #1 ranked player coming out of HS in the state so nobody bitched in hindsight for Miles recruiting him to OSU, every team in the region was recruiting that particular kid.

Facts, something to be totally disregarded when rantards reign supreme ... but that's what makes the Rant go 'round, amusing, too, methinks.

I don't remember McCoy being on LSU.

He wasn't. He whole family is Texas and UT - his dad even boxed dirt from Texas and stashed it under his bed when his job moved them out of state when little Colt was just a gleam in Mommie and Daddy's eye.

He was as determined to be a QB at UT as Tebow always was at UF, if facts still matter here.

Do you think this LSU team has character issues or not? And who is responsible for a team's character? Do you think the head coach of a college football team embracing a gangsta rapper is a good thing?

Yep, we do get IT! You're a jerk who is intimating that LSU FB is rife with "thugs" because some very frustrated young men made some very ill-timed, stupid, boneheaded decisions on the field yesterday at critical points in the game.

Just because we had a crappy 2008 season is no reason to start trashing young men who opted to come to LSU for an education and to don the P&G and play FB.

What a piece of work you are with your thuggery BS. I'd love to see some of you anonymous keyboard "warriors" man up to a Tigah like Big Herm and spew your big stinking pile face to face. Yeah, like that'd ever happen you disappointed little flyweight jerk.

So, you think it's just fine for a head coach of a college fooball team to embrace a gangsta rapper? You don't think that sends a message, a bad one?

This didn't just start yesterday. A friend of mine told me LSU was as bad as Miami with the thug stuff after we routed them in the bowl game. I shrugged it off and defended LSU and Miles. I've been trying to ignore it for the last several years. But yesterday's game was the straw that broke the camel's back. That's the first time I have been embarrassed to be an LSU fan. If you can't see a problem, then you have blinders on.

What thugs? There have been no incidences requiring disciplinary action all year. The thug on the team was dismissed before the season.

I think there is a fertilizer overload of fans bitterly disappointed in a bummer season on the heels of an SEC and national championship year ... and that we all wanted the ride to last forever, at least an SECC year in and year out and a perpetual run at an annual NC game, I'm no different in that regard - I never want LSU to lose in any sport, but those are unrealistic expectations.

CLM was in an untenable situation when rapper boy appeared on LSU's doorstep, Miles can scarcely be viably accused of holding him up as an example for his team. To suggest that is far-fetched and ridiculous ... in fact, if we'd had a more promising season of FB, this wouldn't even be a blip on the radar screen right now, but far be it from bitterly disappointed fans leaving any stone unturned in their season of discontent.

What ticks me off big-time are fans labeling LSU FB players as thugs for no reason other than several stupid, boneheaded penalties, one of which came at a super-critical 4th & 29 point in the game ... just because we're all frustrated and mega-bummed at how this year went. It's uncalled for, unsubstantiated and downright silly.

We see the product on the field, especially the one we saw this season, and proceed to speculate and gossip endlessly about John Doe's wife's third cousin thrice removed on her great-great uncle's side locker room gossip, allegedly and post it and twaddle on about it endlessly without an iota of solid proof.

Hell, UF fans were ready to can UM after last year - some of them started the typical fireUM website.

While coaching mistakes were made, especially the co-D coordinator debacle, this ain't Pop Warner FB. These are kids learning to be young men at LSU to get an education while playing SEC FB. Therefore, some of this falls on them - you opt to come to LSU and put on the P&G, then be prepared to play through the good times (last year) and the bad times (a year that saw LSU reduced to starting a Harvard walk-on at QB, followed by a pair of redshirt and true freshman QBs).

All of that notwithstanding, this crapola of labeling the LSU FB team as a bunch of thugs is downright childish and grossly inappropriate and, moreover, it is utterly baseless and without substantiation.

I don't think we can compare to Miami in off-the-field discipline issues. On-the field discipline is where we are lacking...and that's all on the coaches and senior "leaders". They quit after the Bama game.

Haven't you watched any of the games in the last few years under Miles? Does something have to rise to the level of a criminal offense before you consider it thuggary?

Sorry, can't buy "a friend of mine told me" without specifics. Without specifics, it's just more

OIC, if someone doesn't lockstep agree with your assertion than LSU's FB team has suddenly turned into a bunch of thugs because we had a crappy season, we've got blinders on, eh? Now that's a joke, big time.

RP could have learned a lot from Billy Cannon...Mostly, no matter how bad a person you are, get the coaches, university, & the media to sweep all your indiscretions under the rug, and someday they might hang a banner in your honor.
