i'm not going to pick a certain ranking but we're not going to win shite unless we get our total passing yardage into the top half of the NCAA
I mean...if Alabama wins tomorrow night, which they are favored and likely will, 6 out of the last 10 national champions have been in the bottom half of the NCAA in passing yards per game. Of the 4 who were in the top, 1 was top 10, 1 was in the 30s, and 2 of the 4 were in the 50s...one of which was LSU, who was 58th out of 120. Soooo, is this just an LSU requirement you are making, or are you again showing us you aren't very football savy?

But let's get to brass tacks here and be honest. At the end of the Hallman era, if you had a bad feeling that winning our last game of his last year would have saved his job, are you telling me that at least part of you wouldn't have worried about that?
Curley Hallman never had a winning season. Les Miles has never had a losing season. And you're accusing us of sensationalizing this debate.

Rob is hard to take serious after the 2011 season. He left a signature on his post for years calling Les a liar because of rob's weird fascination with jarret Lee

Miles is a SUBSTANTIALLY better college coach than Hallman.
That doesn't change the point that if one had felt that winning 2-3 more games his last season would have saved Hallman's job, a reasonable person might have preferred Hallman lose his job.
Hence, the assertion that anyone ever thinking that isn't a "true fan" is horse shite.
Posted on 1/10/16 at 10:48 am to Fratigerguy
And I guess to illustrate the point even more...every team out of the SEC who has won a national championship in the past 10 years has been in the bottom half of the NCAA in passing yards per game.

Les is a liar and I have no attachment to JL at all.
But, I know shite treatment when I see it and what Miles did that year was shite.
I also recall saying that it could bite him in the arse in terms of QB recruiting.
How's that working out for us lately?

No, a reasonable person would prefer that LSU wins the last 2-3 games and Hallman gets fired anyway. You are what your record says you are, as they say.

Rob, there are guys on here who have outright said that they would rather LSU lose every game than go undefeated because it would mean we get to fire miles. I understand that that is not the majority of "negas", or even a substantial portion of them, but there are some wacky frickers in the LSU "fan base".

this post is a jumbled mess of commas and run-ons, but these stats are what i found
2015: Bama (48) / Clemson (19)
2014: OSU (22)
2013: FSU (7)
2012: Bama (62)
2011: Bama (66)
2010: Auburn (48)
2011: Bama (69)
2008: Florida (42)
2007: LSU (42)
2006: Florida (17)
2005: Texas (26)
2004: USC (9)
so since 2004, 2 Bama teams right outside of the top half won the title and the rest were in the top half
note: i said total passing
i used ESPN's statistical ranking

What coach isn't a "liar"? This should be good.

Well, using total passing is just stupid, because those teams will have played at least an extra game due to conference championship games. Obviously, you erred and are not trying to manipulate stats to prove a point that you were wrong in, are you?

OK. Now look at all those teams you just mentioned. Take a look at LSU's passing offense ranking since 2009 starting with this year.
Show me the national/SEC championship teams that have finished outside the TOP 100 4 of the last 8 years. Outside the top 90 six of 8 years and outside the top 50 7 of 8 years.
108th
109th
43rd
90th
100th
102nd
92nd
67th

well, that's what i used. i can't help that you didn't read it

how will this advantage not be available to a title-worthy LSU team? is LSU leaving the SEC? did the SEC get rid of its title game?

you erred
you can't change what i said and then claim i erred b/c you didn't read it correctly and posted a different set of stats

no i knew what i meant
apparently you didn't and are trying to change what i said so you can say i'm wrong, which is glorious logic

Total yards vs yards per game and you use total yards? Are you serious?

LOL. LSU finished A MINIMUM 25 teams WORSE than the worst passing offense above in 6 of the last 8 years.

2011 LSU. Glad I could help.

this is a nice straw man to try to change the argument
if you want to argue yards/game, feel free to do so, but that's not what i said so i have no clue why we're using my comment on another stat
