On the UK site today remembering Mike - RIP!
Mike the Tiger was by far the coolest live mascot in the SEC and visiting him became a ritual for teams visiting Baton Rouge. Here’s the basketball team saying hello to him in January:
It’s becoming an annual visit while in Baton Rouge. The guys went to see Mike The ??. pic.twitter.com/AG5nrfWauY

Rest in peace, Mike. Now, while I struggle to get a hold of myself, you all read over today’s agenda.

Had no idea that Mike's caregivers were on scholarship - thanks so much for sharing that link! For me, making a donation is another nice way of saying thank you.

I can only hope there's plenty of Bama fans in heaven so they can STTDB.

One of my favorite Mike memories-
LSU vs Washington. Mike decides to make it inside for the game. His cage is being driven near the Washington players who are warming up. Mike is lying there calmly. A defensive lineman for Washington finishes a drill, decides to be a bad arse and slaps Mike's cage as he runs by. Mike jumps up (and he is HUGE) and gets in an attack position. That's the fastest that lineman has ever moved in his life! Absolutely sprinted back to the team.
Godspeed Mike!

Mike VI was so much more than a tiger in a fabulous habitat. Social media made him so visable but what made Mike VI so different was his personality. He was the show and whether he knew it or not, he made the show every day for so many adoring fans.
I'll quit crying sometime soon, but this is very painful for so many.
The most important thing to remember is that Mike had the very best medical care he could possibly have had. Dr. David Baker said that he would not let Mike suffer and if you saw his statement today, that point was front and center for him. Putting such a beautiful creature as Mike down had to have been a crushing blow for Dr. Baker and his caretakers because they are so dedicated to Mike and his well being. My deepest thanks and appreciation for their efforts for Mike. He did not suffer. And we really really miss him. The LSU family thanks you.
