Mike the Tiger vs. Truck Stop Tiger

Being this is the "Tiger Rant"...
I have been by the truck stop in question once or twice, and both times made comments that the conditions their tigers live in are horrible, and they told us they give better care than the zoo does and to leave...go by there this summer when it's 100 degrees and look at them, it is pitiful, it's nice to see this article finally in the paper, and people should be pissed off, if they had a place like Mike's it wouldn't be an issue!
Help these Tigers!

It's sad that some hick thinks it is his right to keep such a beautiful animal in such a shitty confinement.

Those frickwads in Grosse Tete need to give up that tiger. I was at that location Monday and was horrified at the condition of the cat and the cage.
"Inbred" was the first thing that came to my mind when I was there Monday.

One of Sandlin’s workers, a woman, had to be physically restrained several times from attacking an animal rights activist who called her “an inbred.”

The irony is that "Rosco" sounds like a good name for a Truck Stop Tiger...

This is the owner of the tigers, he seems normal!
I bet the constant smell of deisel is really healthy for the tigers too, the last picture the cage is on the right, looks really plush! They should be saved from that place...it's a shame. They are endangered, but living in that crap hole...

Who remembers the monkey at Fun Fair Park over by Cortana. I'd say this tiger lives in luxury comapred to that monkey.

I totally remember that monkey, that was scary, but riding that rollercoaster was even more terrifying....

Agreed. It seemed like someone was dying every summer on that Wild Mouse ride.

I've always hated that Truck Stop...Those cages would suck arse for any animal.

The Wild Mouse!!!! That was it....

They should make the owner live in it for a week and then ask him what he thinks...

Have you seen the cage this tiger is kept in? It's horrible.

I think the fact alone that there is no trained staff on site is more than enough reason to not keep it. What if it gets out? Then throw in the living conditions and yeah it needs to be moved.

They have had tigers there for over 20 years, it's good to see people getting fired up about it, and I hope they do rip them away and put them in an animal sanctuary somewhere...for the longest time I always thought Mike deserved better if we were gonna keep him on campus, they finally did his habitat justice...

freaky, your login is just a few digits off of my lsu login... at first glance I thought it was the same.
and I've seen this tiger once. It was pretty sad. I don't know how they actually have all the paperwork/licenses to have this tiger caged up at a gas station, and in such shitty condition too.

Hey Gut. Didn't you have a tie-in with that fun fair park chimp once?

A truck stop close to where I live had a tiger at the station for awhile. Just imagine all the drunks and assholes that show up to throw shite at him just to get a reaction from him. I ain't no PETA guy, but that is just a shitty way for a wild animal to be treated.
Posted on 12/17/08 at 1:48 pm to horndog
I am no PETA guy either but this inbred idiot should be forced to live in that pen for a month, then let him decide if keeping this tiger is a good idea.
