I have to return to MSY/NOLA on Monday 9/2.

So you’re driving 25 hrs back starting directly after the game around 8pm?

Yes, as I said in the original post this is probably the dumbest idea I've ever had

Southwest has two flights that leave on Tuesday that arrive ion NOLA before 1pm.

What time do you plan to leave on Monday to beat those flights back to NOLA?

You’ve got time to drive 25hrs but flight times aren’t flexible??

Flight times are flexible, the cost of the flights are not. The whole point of driving is to save money. If we don't save a significant amount of money flying out of a nearby major airport what's the point??

Yikes
There are definitely flights for $400 that fit your timeline though. If you’re considering driving back directly after the game you might as well consider driving back to PHX to catch a 5am flight for $200

If the prices are similar, it’s pretty obvious it’s worth it to save 25hr of driving.

A more enjoyable experience, safety, high chance you return to whatever the thing is you NEED to be back in NOLA on Monday for.

How are you going to be back on Monday after a 25 hour drive from the game Sunday night?

I’m not sure the 25 hr drive takes into account the time change. They would get back to Nola area by 12am at best

Do it!

Drove from Bozeman to Houston in June and it was great.

Of course I didn’t have to go both ways.

Yeah I’d just pay the $1000 rather than spend 3 days driving.

I've spent 3 hours yesterday searching for flights to Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angles, Salt Lake City, and Albuquerque. There's no flights that I can find that make flying an affordable option for us.

I call bull shite. I don’t know what your parameters are, but you can absolutely find a flight for ~$400.
Driving 25 hrs in a rental + gas is gonna be about the same

seems this is 50 hours of driving in like 96 hours. without sleeping for one night at least. I would rather take an arse whipping. That drive thru Texas he will be hitting about midway on the way back after being up more than 24 hours will have him revisit this advice.

So, are you thinking about doing this nonstop? Because even with two drivers, you'd be better off breaking up the drive with an overnight stay (probably in Amarillo).

If you do make this trip, watch for the cops in Estelline, and let us know. I'll want to stay off US 287 when you pass through Wichita Falls on the way back.

Don['t forget about parking fees in Vegas. Those are outrageous.

I also call BS on them leaving right after the game. I don't really believe too much of this story,.
