ND's and A&M's QBs have played one year, also.

considering the blocking and WR drop issues, I was pretty pleased with his performance. there were a couple games where his accuracy could have been better, but that was really my only complaint. I think you have to allow for some mistakes from a guy playing at that level for the first time.

some of the pocket awareness stuff was overblown IMO. there was some truly bad pass protection at times - and it wasn't just the OL (yes I'm looking at you, RBs). I hope those will be ironed out with more experience from all involved.

You can easily pick out the sunshine pumpers by whether or not a LSU fan thinks Mett is an amazing QB or not. Sunshine pumper = "Mett is the best QB ever!!!" Everyone else = "Mett is an average SEC QB at best"

WR drop issues

I'll add route running and getting separation as well to this.

It's also critical that the down and distance situation gives the play calling less predictable options. That is the BAMA system. Great running game to set up a lot of 2nd and 3rd short down and distances. But you must have a cohesive and good OL for this to happen. The game is won in the trenches. Obviously great talent at the skill positions are vital but it still comes down to who blocks and tackles better. At least that what Vince Lombardi said.
