I completely agree. But when you are in the offseason and don't have any statistics to compare, the interviews are all the public has to gauge the player's mindset heading into the season.

Holy shite. How do yal think he sounded douchey. He joked a little the reporters but it's not like any of his jokes were disrespectful.

They should ask better questions. I'm glad he answers like this.

I agree. But I hate Cam Newton, in part, for being such a horse's arse during interviews. I'm not going to spare the QB I root for when he gives a bad interview either.

He's a college kid and not a professional or at least, I hope he's not playing for money.

I thought he handled it as well as any starting college QB would who was being pumped for info by guys looking for a sound bite or quote.

I think it was a good interview. I think he's just really comfortable with those guys. When he was a bit cocky with his initial answers to stupid questions, he backed up his responses with specifics, which was respectful.

I wish I had more clarity on 'our defense is really down right now'. It almost sounded like he meant 'depressed' but I'm sure he just meant that we lost some good players.

A couple of jokes doesn't make a bad interview. It's not like he blew the questions off either. He made jokes and then answered the question.

Maybe its his way of answering media questions in a relaxed fashion. He has a high expectation role to play here on this team. The season hasn't even started and people are all over him.

Wow I almost hope we lose after watching that.

He had absolutely no respect for the interviewer when he should be counting his blessings to be in the position he is in.

I thought he was talking about the current defensive players out due to injuries.

That has to be a troll job.

Seriously though, I'm rooting for the kid. And I guess I wouldn't necessarily call him "douchey".

But again, I'd have rather he just answered the questions instead of responding the way he did. I grimace thinking that I sounded like that when speaking to my parents at age 14.

Did he say "You're gonna see us run two quarterback sets" at 1:40ish?
