Longest one I've seen in person is still Todd Linden's blast in the sub regionals (forget the opponent) his Sr. year. It may have been Virginia Commonwealth. Anyway, it was the second game of the day (they had to beat us twice, and they won the first one) and it was Linden's second HR of the game. It was still on the rise when it flew over the intimidator. A buddy of mine was tailgating by the Athletic Dept and saw it land about 35-45 feet past Nicholson.
that has to be the same one i am thinking of. That was a bomb.

I don't know about the longest, but the most memorable was in the 97 regional tourny. We were late to the game and driving down Nicholson right by the Box. Over the radio Hawthorne announces that Mike Koerner just crushed one. I yell at my wife to stop the car and (miraculously without question or discussion) she does, just as the ball bounces in front of us. If she had not stopped when she did it would have hit us. I jumped out and tried to get it, but a bunch of kids beat me to it.

Brandon Larson at the 1997 CWS off of the unhittable 1st round pick Matt Anderson of Rice.....it went over the old LF scoreboard

Brad Hawpe hit one early in the 1999 season that I swear hit the athletic admin building after a couple hops

this. the longest homerun my grandfather said he ever saw was by brett boone when usc played us in a regional. also, i've heard rafael palmero hit one over nicholson drive in the 80's.

Don't remember the game, but Furniss hit one in Omaha the was out of the park in less than 2 secs. I remember it was to left-center and was skyed. It may have hit the lightpole or something, but it was a bomb

Didn't Lyle Mouton crush one during the World Series to dead center? I remember the announcers saying that it was the longest that anyone had seen at that ball park. And to dead center to top it off, what a shot!!!!

My dad hit it over the scoreboard when he was in college. Way to far back for people to remember though

Furtherest I ever witnessed was by Eddy Furniss against SLU in Hammond. The longest one I ever saw hit at the Box actually wasn't a Tiger of was hit by Brad Wilkerson of Florida.

I was thinking Mouton's shot during the CWS. It was referenced a couple years ago as the longest homerun in CWS.

But it was during an ESPN broadcast so who knows.

Man Todd Linden was supposed to be a sure fire Major Leaguer. Guess it never worked out for him

Edit - never mind, apparently he played 270 games in the majors.

Someone hit a real deep one in College Station in '89 to beat 58 win Texas A&M. Maybe Grisham, I can't remember except that it got out in a hurry. We shocked the world that day and beat'em twice in the same day.
