Why continue the threads about MM when we all know he will be gone after this season. We just have to suffer through 2more months. The handwriting was on the wall once Landry had SW canned. They will go after WW but I don’t know if he comes.Change is coming I just don’t know if it’s the guy y’all want.

Yeah thanks, I watched the game.

Exactly 10 points, literally the lowest number to meet the criteria of double digits. It was around 6 at the end of the game until we had to start fouling.
This is almost as good as mcpuffs saying double digits really only means 14+.

It's gotten personal for some and between some here and I think it's more about that.

I really have a hard time seeing that, he's at a basketball school now where the sport is much more valued. Not that I would mind at all but I see that as highly unlikely and a typical Landry type self promotion.

I think that is more perception based upon the past, not necessarily the current facts.
NC State is paying Wade less than LSU is paying McMahon. A guy with a career .700 winning % at 4 different schools is being paid LESS than a guy who has been the worst coach in the SEC for multiple years. That doesn't necessarily speak to the sport being much more valued. That's not to say NC State would raise the pay if forced to, but they aren't paying a salary an SEC could couldn't easily beat.
NC State is in a conference that traditionally has been one of, if not the best basketball conferences. But that has changed. The SEC and Big 12 have passed the ACC. The Big 10 probably has as well. The ACC still has two of the most tradition rich programs in UNC and Duke. Beyond that, everyone else is comparable to the SEC. Over the last 26 years, NC State's average finish in the ACC has been 8th
What creates the perception of "high value" is their presence in the ACC and the state of North Carolina. In reality, for the last 35 years it's been a very average program with a few highlights occasionally mixed in. You're letting NC State's proximity to Duke and UNC, and a lucky dunk in New Mexico, skew your perception

How many rings does LSU have smart guy? Lsu basketball is so bad, they're literally on a UNO level with a bunch of fossils making decisions behind the scenes. Anyone who doesn't believe Dale Brown and Collins Temple doesn't have a voice in the ear of boosters , then thats on you. Getting a new coach aint changing shite, because they've done that a bunch of times. The culture , the decision makers, all need to go. Lsu can hire a clone of Dean Smith. It doesn't change the fact that LSU has a shite bag recruiting department. Been like that for years. Dont give this "we need an LSU guy" crap either. Might as well call Johnny Jones back or see what Ron Abernathy has been up to for Christ sakes. Yeah, epic meltdown, I know. Some of you turds need to freaking realize, until LSU commits to a winning program, look at stub hub for cheap NIT tickets. Enjoy the Miami beat down tonight

The same amount as 5 of the teams you listed as being “light years ahead of lsu”, and 6 if you’re only counting the last 20 years.
Moron.

I disagree Alt and here's why. Basketball is their No. 1 sport there. Their fan base cares about it more than football and baseball like at most schools in the country is a minor sport there. They put more recourses into it when things aren't going great even. I think their reported $10 Million in Nil contributions for basketball this years speaks to that.
Relative to LSU basketball is more important, and I don't think that's debatable. Are they Duke or North Carolina - no.
I don't agree that WW's relative salary points to anything other than there is still some blacklisting of WW going on out there and he's playing the long game very confident that he will get the results to get the $$ down the line.
And if he succeeds which I'm pretty confident he will they will pay him.
But hey - would I take him back here? In a second. I just don't see it as a very likely scenario at all.

I would agree they did at one time - but the Johnny Jones experiment really burned up a good bit of that bridge and when all of Collis's kids and their friends used up their playing ability and with the changing landscape of high school basketball recruiting Re: reliance on AAU back channels - Collis's leverage there has also been significantly diminished.
They do keep him around as sort of like Great Britain keeps the royals around as a figurehead but compared to even 20 years ago his influence is not near what it was.
And Dale got sideways with Brady, Trent and WW and that got old with the few folks who still have influence with hoops.
