Would a low seed in the big dance or NIT championship benefit the players returning next season

What a stupid question. Going to the NCAA Tournament is always better than going to the NIT.

Winning the NIT is like saying you are the smartest dumb kid in the class.

With that said, going to the NIT and having some kind of post-season playing experience is certainly better than staying at home and having nothing at all, which was certainly the expectation coming into this year.

This is a terrible post, it would by far more beneficial to lose even in an 11 seed play in game.

One gain the experience of playing in an environment like that, the media, the attention, and learning how to prepare for a quick turn around if you do win your first game.

With the NIT, LSU will likely be playing the Southland or one of the southern lower tier regular season conference champions that did not win their tournament. They will be playing at home and against probably a team with far less talent.

Its the key thing is having the guys that will return, specifically Tre and Skylar gaining the experience to help the guys that have not been there next year. Guard play is what you need for tournament play, we will have a great rotation next year.

NIT championship.
Would give them confidence & post season tourney experience going into next season. Missing the big dance would keep them humbled & provide a reachable goal.
Talent & drive to get to the big dance & tourney champion experience to go win it.
Losing in a play-in game or round of 64 would really only benefit the players leaving. Might even hurt the confidence of the players that stay. Lose Big & it hurts the LSU brand.

NCAA appearances not only strengthen the coach and programs resume for recruiting it puts the program in a more favorable light for future rankings and subjective decisions made by pollsters, selection committees and more prestigious pre season tourney considerations.

Might not be a popular opinion. But I think hosting an NIT game could go a long way in energizing the fan base.

A night game on Espn, hopefully packed PMAC. Could give us some momentum Into next year

(Obviously the goal is NCAAT, I just think it’s really unlikely at this point. And I still consider the NIT a good accomplishment for this team)
