Mays can't finish and plays wild way to often. Smart needs to be in the starting line up.

Truedat, he had to lead the league in charges

As someone else said earlier in the thread, this is very overblown, it's all due to him being streaky in that aspect. When the bad comes, it comes in waves, but then it also goes away in waves. Mays will have a game or two where he misses 2-3 layups and commits 2-3 charges (these hit our memory and stick with it), then goes 5-6 games in a row where none of that happens (people forget this entirely).
Mays finished last season 53% from 2, Waters was 49% and Onwuasor was 48% (Sampson was 63% and Edwards 64%).
So you could argue Mays finished better than Waters and Onwuasor if we're going down that route.
In a way, people remember the worst sometimes, some people say Epps wasn't great around the rim because he missed that easy layup for the win against Stephen F. Austin. He finished 68% from 2, best on the team.

I'm so happy that Will Wade has created an environment of optimism, so much so that the rant is discussing basketball in July.
Despite what he's said, I don't think Mays is the starter the whole year. In a heavy lineup, I think Smart will overtake him. He's just that good. but in a guard heavy lineup, I think they'll see the floor simultaneously quite often
