Maybe others view us in a more positive light than we view ourselves...

Rant post season: God we’re going to suck this season I’d be shocked if we make a bowl game.
Rant a couple months before season starts: omg we’re going to be amazing we found a QB this year this time is for real.

No I think LSU fans view LSU in a pretty damn positive light, hence why so many were disappointed with the hiring of the new coach.
Many felt that the new coach was not qualified to be coaching at a program so many of us viewed with such high regard.

July is the month of optimism for LSU football every year. We always forget how weak we are in certain aspects. We get too excited about potential. We downplay the difficult schedule. We pretend Bama is beatable.
I find myself doing it too. Orgeron has done a good job at fixing several weaknesses from last year. Kicking game was a big one. QB was another that hopefully works itself out. He has done everything he can in the offeseason I think. I still am not sold on our running game this year but hopefully they surprise us. The defense will be solid. The line is greatly upgraded. Not sure about th secondary after Williams yet. And honestly until our receivers start going out there and making plays on a Saturday I just can’t buy the hype.
But hey we aren’t Vandy bad. We just aren’t as good as we used to expect to be either.

I would say that is a certainty.

I mean Most teams that can go 9-4 with Orgeron as a HC are clearly in the “well oiled machine” category.

You'll see this posted after the first negative yardage play the first week of September.

Totally understandable. I was not on board either, and still have questions. However, I must admit that (minus the cornerback situation) his recruitment and management of the roster/recruiting has been really good to this point. I'm willing to roll with him until I have a reason not to.

thats wonderful...
but what does your thoughts about the job Edward has done with roster management have to do with LSU fans viewing LSU in a less positive light than outsiders do?

Out of what 130 D1-A programs, at least 120 (maybe more) would trade places with LSU in a heartbeat.
