He had his flaws but he did well at times. Enough to stick around and try to coach him up. And his brother is a guy we wanted badly

My initial reaction is it doesn’t make sense. He beat out Nuss and has two years headstart on Walker Howard. Seems like it would be a safe bet to assume he would be the starter next year.
Maybe he has concerns over the coaching change, but why not wait until the staff is in place (have his brother delay his signing) and assess.
Feels like they’ve made a package deal for both kids somewhere. What a crazy week.
