It was nearly the same exact play that got Trae the game winner against KSU...until the clock operator fricked up. Did you like it then?
That’s my point. We’ve already used that play this year multiple times. And the ball went to Trae Hannibal, an experienced, bowling ball type guard with decent handles, that can get the ball up court quickly without turning it over.
The play last night (the same play you’re referencing mind you) went to Justin Reid, a true freshman, who is not particularly good at dribbling the ball the length of the court. You give him the ball at the free throw line and he has success driving to the basket. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen him try and dribble down court after a rebound and turn the ball over. He dribbles too high and it’s easy for guards to cause steals.
It was a poorly concocted play design, one that was familiar enough to not only have the guy guarding the inbounds stay with Reid but also have someone come up and double team him had he actually caught the inbounds pass. Get the ball into Hill’s, Williams’, or Miller’s hands and live with the outcome.

What kind of play was that

Dale Brown could have done better than that
Well, McMahon could have just said "Jose, don't shoot" and the result would not have been any worse.

Do y’all know why those guys aren’t learning anything in practice all they do is see who can make shots from mid court. Every time they show clippings of them in practice that’s what they’re doing.
