the reason I say it won't be a massive shift is because Canada has publicly stated that he doesn't have a set philosophy or scheme. he has run it all dependant upon his players.

no it won't. he will use traditional power run concepts.

As does every offense in the country... there's only so much he can change. I'm not saying that he's going to reinvent the wheel.

quote:

the only massive difference will be pre snap

The entire offense will look different. It's not just pre-snap shifts. There's passing concepts, pass protections, etc that I've not seen LSU run in the past ten years that they'll be doing this season.

quote:

we aren't talking about play calling. of course the plays will be different but our philosophy and scheme will still be power run 1st and foremost.

Philosophy & scheme = play calling. The identity of the offense is reflected in the playbook. The philosophy is about exploiting advantages against certain teams. If that means power run then Canada will do it. If it means read-option Canada will do it. If it means short passing Canada will do it. A lot of it will still be run-based but that's because we have Derrius Guice and an average QB.

Exactly. It's a hand off to the Fournette, Guice, Williams, what have you.... Now Canada throws in some uncertainty. Shovel passes, bubble screens, the TE's aren't just for blocking now, they're actually involved in the passing game.

Being unpredictable. That's a massive change. In the last few years, anyone with a tv knew what to expect. That's what the guy is getting at.

the scheme and philosophy won't be a massive change. we will still run out of tradition power run concepts.

and for the record, if you watched other cfb programs with the passion you watch lsu with your realize every program runs predictable plays.
those great Oregon offenses ran the same play 50 % of the time. chip Kelly's entire playbook consists of 4 running plays.

Read my above post again. It sure will be a massive change.

Kinda like ours under Miles. That's not a shot at the man, it's just the truth. He never adjusted.

So now we have a guy who will throw in some unpredictability. What a thought.

holy shite. I did if you're not a dumbass.

for the last decade lsu has bene built as a power run team.

we hired a OC that doesn't HAVE A SET PHILOSOPHY and plays to the strengths of the players, which is power run game.

had we hired a guy with a set philosophy or would be a massive change.

try to keep up

That's like saying Stanford and Auburn have the exact same scheme and philosophy because they both use power run concepts.

Do you realize how stupid you look?

Not really.

Correct

which is power run game.

No it isn't. Our roster is extremely versatile. I don't know where you're getting this from.

You act as if Canada is just gonna crack open "Generic Playbook 3" and start pulling plays from it.

I'm sorry you don't know the difference.

the fact that you don't know the difference between a smashmouth spread and a traditional power run scheme is cute

Well duh.

For the third time now, there's unpredictability in the offense now. What an amazing thought.

No one ever said Canada was eliminating running plays. You can see that in the highlights of his play calling while he was at Pitt.

You're suggesting I did, and the other poster too.

What is it with you shooting down other people's opinions?

"Cool." "K" blah blah..... pinnacle of evolution my foot

Instead of looking into your crystal ball on how this season will go, you seem pretty confident in your posts that it will go one particular way, (given your so called football acumen) maybe just watch the games like the rest of us and see how things unfold.

Good Lord. Talk about getting defensive about things one doesn't for sure even know about.

It's called being a normal human being and listening to other's opinions. You act like you know every thing there is about football. I know that isn't true.
