So tossing the ball to the ref after a TD is "showboating" now? I thought that's what Barry Sanders and all those others with class did?

the ref said TD.

i have never been one to give a shite on a technicality that is so close and i wouldnt care if i was a georgia fan. they didnt stop him. they didnt have any one any where near him.. thats on them. it's a TD.

why are people still bringing this up?

Of course not. But tossing it to the ref before the TD is terrible showboating.

I feel like there's almost a contest now to drop the ball as quickly past the goalline as possible. Even Mo's interception return was a little too close for comfort.

He is right it shouldn't have been a TD but it wasn't called and doesn't really change the fact that LSU is a better team than UGA

Actually since you fricks want to be technical about a technicality it SHOULD have been a TD.

He should have maybe kept the ball longer and it was and should have been a TD.

To point out May's hypocrisy. I've heard him say many times things like "just let the kids play" - which can be translated as "sure, that's technically a penalty, but don't call it".

this is like a baseball player hitting a homerun and maybe just missing homeplate.

Showboating? Seriously?

If he high-steps, it nullifies the touchdown. If he does a Lambeau leap, it's a penalty. If he flashes a sign to the crowd? Penalty. He was excited and accidentally tossed the ball to the official too soon. Hardly showboating. It's not like he was DeSean Jackson backstroking into the endzone.

Maybe you could get Miss Manners to write an etiquette of properly scoring a touchdown because apparently these kids just can't figure out what kind of sportsmanship the masses expect.

Yeah... WTF is up with that? I've noticed it too this year. If it was me... I'd be touching the thing to the ground before I let it go.

I hear ya. I guess I'd much prefer that to the DeSean Jackson BS and choreographed crap we've been subjected to the last few years.

Ideally, he would have crossed the plane at full speed, circled back, and handed the ball to the ref. But they're kids. I guess I give him a break here.

In any case...

2B/SS rarely touch the second base bag when turning a double play.

Joe Garagiola used to call it "the neighborhood play" - if you're in the neighborhood of the bag, that's enough.

Good point, and me either. Hell, in a big game, I defy you to show me when the guy touches home. He's usually getting mauled by his teammates

I think about it similar to this as well.

It was a simple mistake, and if it had been the GA winning TD I would feel the same way.

May has alot to offer the show, too bad he chooses silly, silly things to talk about now. He and Holtz should give way to real football men...they used to be them, now they are just goofy.

far better analogy than mine.\

nobody should be upset either way it is called.

If we lose a TD on the call, make him run laps until he trips over his tongue.
