That's what I'm thinking. POY really comes down to these two. It probably gets decided this Saturday.

I resent the fact that anyone would call Thornton a "poor man's Jodie." Let's call it like it is, Jodie had two or three games that were exceptional, but has had some bad ones too, (i.e. the last one). No P&G glasses on, but I can't recall where Marcus has had a "bad" game this year. If Trent would of knew at the beginning of the year that he had the best two-guard in the nation, Marcus would have averaged more in the first half of the year and would be at 25-30 points a game, instead of 20, plus when we were blowing teams out he didnt finish those games! Marcus is a boss out there and no one this year has stopped the "Bulldog" (my name for him, it fits right?)(He keeps coming at you and he tough now). So, stop with this poor man shite, cuz the Bulldog is better. period!

Resent is a strong word irv. Ridicule works for me.

you two are in grade school, right?
Do you look at stats or just puff out your chest and say it's so because you say so?
If you are adults, then I can now go to my grave knowing that I've had an actual conversation with someone who lives in a house with wheels and beats his wife. Thanks for that.
If you looked at stats, you'd know you're talking out of your asses.
Thornton has had a handful (read: more than a few) of games in single digits...and, no, not just in the beginning of the year. January for sure.
Meeks has been in double figures each game. He has 7 games of 30 or more (more than Thornton), 18 games of 20 or more (more than Thornton). Meeks also has 17 games with more than 3 three pointers (more than Thornton).

You do realize that this is an LSU message board and we like Thornton better. So what? Looking for glowing admissions that Meeks is better? Wrong board.

good point. I won't post anymore about Meeks.

Meeks has been in double figures each game. He has 7 games of 30 or more (ONE more than Thornton), 18 games of 20 or more (TWO more than Thornton). Meeks also has 17 games with more than 3 three pointers (5 more than Thornton).
Fixed another one for you popcorn/aka SFB. Oh and you left out that Meeks has taken 37 more total shots and 79 more 3's in one less game. Based on shooting percentage alone if MT jacked as many shots as Meeks their totals would be about even.
Normally I'd say You can't be that stupid, but alas you've proven you are. Next.

Meeks is a better defender
also mt rebounds better.
meeks is great though and can score

Okay, Poprocks, I agree with you that Meeks will probably win SEC POY, but you're going a little overboard with your man crush. Marcus Thornton is a better all around basketball player and I would take him over Meeks any day for that reason. MT actually has a higher shooting percentage and leads in all other categories not related to shooting or minutes played. JM simply plays more minutes, jacks up more 3s and doesn't dish the ball to anyone else. Of course, he also gets more pub because ppg is the stat that matters most.
