in the playoffs, if they get there.

ND is an auto lock for the playoffs every year. They can be 8-4 and they are in.

This is all that really needs to be said. Context matters but they aren’t judged the same and the reason is obvious, hell some of the media has come out and admitted it.

And for the record, I really like Marcus Freeman. Think he’s a really good coach. I just think people taking Freeman at ND as a hammer to bash Kelly over the head with are being incredibly ignorant.

Might be a slight overreaction to them losing to the #10 ranked team in the country in week 1

This. It looked like ND lost a game on the road to a top 10 team in a back and forth game against a near equally matched opponent. Notre Dame didn’t look bad in that game like Alabama or Texas did in their losses. Notre Dame lost on a last minute 47 yard field goal. Hardly a “lulz, look at how overrated! These scrubs suck!” moment.

Now, if Notre Dame struggles against A&M and Miami looks bad going forward, then that will change my perception of the Golden Domers tremendously, but as of right now, they still look like a top 10 team.

Honestly if we hired him as our next HC I’d be ecstatic.

I wouldn't be excited about the hire but the melt from stealing a 2nd coach from ND would be fun.
