I think it was giving up 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th that hurt.

Yes, that was certainly a contributing factor.

It's a bitter loss, people are gonna be upset. The teams performance is certain to be placed upon the coaches shoulders, particularly in college.

I know that, but its unwarranted with a few exceptions. I doubt Mainieri asked his best reliever to have a shitty night and hang 3 sliders in a row

with our closing problems, leave gausman in at least until a man gets on base, and not pulling Berry a LOT sooner. And he should find a way to win more than 1 out of the last 16 Sec road games. The man has SUCKED lately, SUCKED, and NO ONE can dispute that. FACT. Anything else ?

a freshmen pitcher threw 115 pitches, do you understand that?

how soon? after the first 2 batters he faced? Bring in Ott, who has done what?

What the hell was a few more pitches gonna hurt ? Berry was getting rocked, anyone would have been better. Berry was not fooling anyone tonight, a HC should have seen that and made a more.

Do you really not understand the long term effects of throwing 115 pitches as compared to 135? Really?

He's our most consistent and best reliever, he picked the wrong time to have a bad night.......you just have to accept it, just alot of bad timing for this team

Josh, I agree with all of this. Just tough luck--again. This is just not our year apparently.

We REALLY needed the win tonight. 10 pitches is NOT going to effect a pitcher at all. Berry was getting rocked ! It just wasn't his night, he has been good, but Mainieri should have seen that it wasn't his night and taken him out. Ott was ready, I'll take my chances with him over what I saw from Berry at that point.

This is just bad, and I really dont think this team is as bad as their record. Good little saying, things are never as good or bad as they seem. I try to remember that in the good times and the bad. Def trying to remember it now. This team has talent....they are at least a mediocre SEC team

You are beating your head into a wall trying to talk sense into these people who are clueless about baseball. Early in the season, I went on a tirade about our fans, who are known as being "classy and knowledgable" being overrated...I think you even called me out a little on that, maybe not...either way, do you understand what I was getting at? We have a lot of DUMB fans when it comes to the game of baseball. I know, I know, it is a message board and it is a small sample...but I sit in different places at the games and I hear people saying some of the same stuff at the games that I read on here.

Baseball is a quirky game. shite happens. Sometimes the luck does not go your way. Sometimes it does. That year we had that unGodly long win streak, there were TONS of things that had to go right for that to happen. This year, I think we are getting the crappy end of it. Skip Bertman used to call it "baseball fortune". It isn't on our side this year. I just get tired of the "fire the coach", "fire the pitching coach" bullshite every night.

End rant.
