so purke doesnt turn 21 until july 17th, 41 days after the draft starts...so he's eligible?

Jordan Lyles throws around 86-88. He was drafted out of HS. First round. This dude does not know what he is talking about.

BTW, the first 4 picks will all be college players

Matt Purke
Gerrit Cole
Anthony Rendon
Taylor Jungmann

dont know the order, but those 4 are a lock

If Rendon isn't the first bat taken, it will be a crime. I would guess Purke, Rendon, Cole, Jungmann in that order.

apparently Jungmann was hitting as high as 98 at times last year...if he does that, he'll go before Cole i think.

i'd say he's a much more complete than Cole

I doubt he threw that soft, but without knowing much about him, he probably had a projectable body, and being a HS, he more than likely hasnt seen his peak.

I know he is one of the Astros top prospects now, so I doubt he still tops out at 88.

This will be Ott's 3rd year in college. Being a reliever as well, he doesnt really project to be a top 5 round pick unless he really has an out of this world season with some MPH gains.

the chances of a 21 or 22 year old guy at 6'1" adding velocity isnt the same as an 18 year old with a big long body.

88-90 touching 91. Not to mention many considered him to be the most projectable pitcher in that draft. He was also only 17 when he was drafted(with an October birthday).

I think Rendon and Purke are 1-2 for sure but a lot of scouts really like Sonny Gray out of Vandy, potentially 3rd if not in the mix with those two. I would take Jungmann over Cole every day of the week.

As for our recruits, I don't like the chances Jake Cave ends up on campus. My best friend played with him in the Commonwealth Games a couple years summers ago when he was a sophomore lefty throwing in the mid-90s. Usually only seniors are invited to the event. He has been on the scouts' radars for a while now.

No way he goes in the Top 20 rounds with a fastball under 90 mph
