I hear it's mostly footwork and he'll be just fine down the road. He has a cannon.

Yes, Mettenberger is incapable of executing a QB sneak.

Cam will fix him. He's the next Matt Flynn.

Do you want Les to play any qb besides ZM in any game this season where its not a blowout and ZM isnt hurt?
Yes, we have backups with no experience. Having a set of 5-10 plays that your backup can execute in a meaningful game is a good idea. Now I probably wouldn't put him in if the game is on the line in the 4 quarter, but letting him run a set in the 2nd quarter with a 10+ point lead isn't a bad idea, assuming the 1st team guy is playing well.
Then why didnt we see Chase Daniels get reps for the Saints throughout his career? Why doesnt Mallett get a few reps for Brady every game to give him that experience? Hell, why didnt Matt Moore take reps for Ryan Tannehill last yr? Why doesnt whoever in the hell AJ McCarron's backup get some reps to get that experience? What in the hell is wrong with you people?

So, after watching how much a competent QB can do for our offense, you want Mett diving into a pile of 300lb men rather than his backup?
Well, this thread is over.

more experienced backup QB always makes you better...
Well I was talking about our 1st team offense, but good point

I was obviously responding to the person that seemed to believe Jennings going into the game and converting that QB sneak is some valuable rare trait. Tom Brady, who is probably the worst athlete in the entire NFL had 4 rushing TD's on QB sneaks last year which is the same number as Russell Wilson who is a phenomenal athlete. You dont necessarily have to be fleet of foot to lunge forward for 1 yard. I was never agruing the point that OF who should be used to do the QB sneaking for LSU. If they want to bring Jennings in to do a QB sneak, then more power to them although I think it's stupid and unnecessary. Thanks for taking my quote out of context though.

So much derp huh? What are you, in the 4th grade? Please explain to me how my stance is not logical.

You can't compare a pro QB coming out of the game for a sneak TD to a college QB.
Tom Brady ain't coming out of the game so his backup can score a TD.

Yes I can, to prove a point. It was rhetorical, obviously. Im directing all of this to these idiots that actually believe we should run a two-QB system or anyone that thinks Jennings should be on the field for any reason at all other than mop up duty or a Mett injury. Once again, thanks for taking a quote out of context and not considering what it was intended for.

I don't disagree with you on playing the backup, I just think it's a faulty analogy.

Well it was a pretty dumb quote so that's kinda your fault

Here's the main reason I've parroted for Jennings ever since the spring game.
His performance was no fluke. He efficiently operated our offense with second string players against the first d for an entire half.
I was at the game live like a bunch of the rest of you. Maybe you can't recognize talent. Jennings is good bro. Really, exceptionally good. How counter-les is it for a TRUE FRESHMAN to steal the backup qb spot?
He has continued to impress over the summer and fall.
What this really boils down to is talent recognition. Anyone who couldnt recognize what Jennings had during spring just simpy doesn't know shite about football.

So you'd rather have Jennings starting over Mett, despite Mett's performance against TCU?
