Who you play and when is a big factor, just ask Saban.

I see what you're saying, but I wouldn't call that luck.

Of course. The whole setup is somewhat silly to begin with. LSU plays a brilliant regular season with dozens of games, yet the "championship" is decided by winning a couple of specific games at the end? Especially in baseball, luck is an overriding factor for such a small sample set. Just think about the error in Game 1. Firstly, we know that "clutch" play is a myth. That's been proven over and over. So from there, we also know that SOME errors will occur over the course of 50 or so games. Unluckily for LSU, they had an error at an inopportune time.

I know people don't want to hear any of this, but it's reality.

Luck plays a major factor in getting to a championship. Big difference between champions and very good teams. Champions put it together when it matters.

This was a very good team. Just not a championship type team.

Myth. No evidence to back this up whatsoever. The sample sizes are way too small to ever make such claims.

Very true in football. Much less true in baseball.

Baseball is a game more than football and basketball where the most athletic team doesn't always win

So going 0-2 when it matters against the top 8 teams in the country is just bad luck or just not a championship team????

I would say baseball requires less luck to make the championship game/series due to how many games played, but is very susceptible to luck at the individual game level.

Football is highly susceptible to luck at both levels.
