You can say LSU had a better resume but they had a losing record against the top 25 and 50

So did St. Johns, and LSU had more wins.

seems pretty clear that the overall resume should be more important

but then again, i dont follow college baseball like the folks at bucknell and valpo do

What they don't get is that the poor record vs the top 25 & 50 plus not making the tournament is a big factor. St. John's didn't do well vs the top 25 & 50 but they took care of business in conference.

yeah, you're right .. there's no way anyone on that committee, knowing full well they would be on the committee, took the time out to carefully follow college baseball this season .. no doubt all those dufuses just showed up this weekend and had to be briefed on who is in what conference and how many innings constitutes a regulation game ...

That's right, but St. John's did well in their conference. So that trumps a little less shitty record vs the top

that made the decision said our weak non conference schedule

St. Johns had a weaker OOC schedule than LSU. So the opponents we play aren't relevant, just where you play the game. Got it.

why do NONE of these people bring up MISSISSIPPI STATE ? why do none of these people bring up 31-10 GEORGIA ? is it because they are in the SEC ?

didnt say that

but i will say the AD at valpo isnt going to have as educated an opinion as the AD at texas a&m, the AD at florida, the AD at cal state fullerton, etc.

Probably because this thread says "LSU's resume vs St John's resume"

We should be in over Mississippi St, St Johns, and Dallas Baptist.

Then continue to schedule cupcakes because conference record trumps quality of OOC opponents.

it's not just this thread .. it is all over the place .. everyone has the impression st. john's stole LSU's bid .. and if every thread around here was required to stay in line with the original subject, this would be a three-page website ..

They are an independent. They don't have a tournament to win. And they didn't play a particularly tough schedule, and lost most of their games to the good teams they played.

We aren't discussing State because they weren't the last team in. St. Johns was.

Its pretty clear STJ was the last 3 seed in and LSU is the 65th team.

Got it. So fans are pissed that a team that finished second in it's conference got a bit, and LSU who didn't even make the conference tournament didn't get in?
