Now, please show me all of the ties of the Honey Badger shot to TM7. I'll hang up and listen.
I shouldn't have to provide the "ties" here..you know good and well both are purposely referencing the same exact thing.

It isn't a conspiracy. The NCAA bylaws apply to merchandise depicting a "physical likeness" to a player. A drink named after an animal doesn't fall under this on any reasonable interpretation.
The lawyers are trying to cover the school's arse. That's all. Tiger District sells a ton of LSU official merch, so there's no real reason to assume ill motives from the LSU side.

Agreed. The rules are pretty cut and dry here.
Loftus is the one stupid enough to try and skirt the rules and launch his business around products that are in violation of NCAA and/or Trademark/Copyright laws.

Legally speaking, it is probably MUCH easier to tie the connection to LSU and TM7 if you are creating a product that is using LSU colors, with the animal that bears the nickname of a current LSU player, wearing the same jersey number, on a football field, making a Heisman pose.
Not to mention it being sold at a venue that sells "official LSU merchandise"

Are you serious with this shite? I they called the drink a tm7 honey badger or a tyrann mathiew honey badger Lsu would be all over them.
You'd be better off bitching about the parking fees or the back up qb like the rest of the whiners.

Some enterprising mixologist should come up with a drink/shot that incorporates some combination of:
T - Tequila, Tanqueray, Triple sec, ???
M - Miller Light, Madeira, Malibu, Midori, ???
7 - 7-up, 7&7, ???
Look at that sleepy little frick!

Good luck with that argument in court.
"Your Honor, I shouldn't have to provide ties..."
That's exactly the difference between the shirts and the drink. Physical ties referencing LSU and tyrann mathieu.
If they served it in a purple and gold glass with a #7 on the side and tyrann Mathieus signature, you would have a case.
